For anyone who doesn't know who I'm talking, it's Doug Murcott, former junior All Black. I'm sure I'm not the only one who had him on the shortlist had he made it to 2018, and you can see why it was odd for him not to get a forum mention, at the very least, which makes me wonder if there was any chance of him being unique for me if he made the starting line...
-
Yeah, I doubt she'll make the starting line, and I'll probably regret not picking her in the poker tournament. There was another person that I'm currently regretting not picking as well. There was a person that, despite no U.K. coverage, I thought that he was a lock for a Mail obit. I was thinking about putting him on my team, but I talked myself out of it, cause he would've made the final 20 had he made the starting line and one of those cult names. Well, he died by the end of July, and as expected, he received some coverage from the Mail. Oddly, he wasn't mentioned on here at all for some strange reason after his death...

It'll be exciting that in 2020, it'll be a new, tense, race between DQSBP and the winner/s to see who'll claim victorious. Of course, an all new threat could easily beat them in 2020 as well...

It would be very ironic if King Michael was somehow the last man standing...

Ami Brown's cancer is said to have progressed to stage 4.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who had a UK teacher who had contracted E Coli in Turkey, on top of having advance colon cancer on their long list. Anyways, she's dead.

Ready to return home after treatment.

I also like that at least a couple of us will try a new strategy with a reduction on the amount of FFBI that actually makes the cut (fringes of fame is still fair game for me), and as a whole, will make the competition a lot more exciting.
-
Aye, same here. Next year, my joker won't be FFBI (even if I think there's a chance of them being unique), but I'm excited for 2018, because I will be trying to get a better score than this year. I'm looking at the younger picks I found so far, some definitely will make my team if they make, and others are kind of risky as well. I think I already know one find, however, that is likely a fraud, and need to remember not to put them on my team. If they make out the year, Al-Baghdadi, Davies, and Loughlin will definitely be at the chopping block, and there could be more as well...

Yes, because this guy is definitely black...

He can no longer read comic books. Sounds like his health is slowly deteriorating...
-
True. But I feel like the writer might be able to make their own personal take on the person and on why they think that they're cool or why they are important to them. Something that you don't really see on the mainstream obituaries a lot...
-
Now some sites in English are talking about it (not in the U.K. mind). I must say, I did not know he was writing a stand up comedy routine with another actor. Good for him...
-
No news on him recently. I honestly think he could be the 9th hit. No news usually means bad news...
-
Holy shit. She looks drastically different.

Had an idea popped into my head yesterday that not necessarily related to the actual gameplay, but it's still something I want to mention because I think it's a really cool idea. You should know about the obituary vault where the shameless folk and your occasional Jagraj Singh's go in and have no obituary on them whatsoever (and if you don't, you've really been hiding under a rock). I am suggesting at potentially another vault, except instead of having no obituary, it'll have longer obituaries than the usual 2 to 3 sentences of the regular obituaries, but instead contains about 4 - 6 paragraphs for every obituary that is made. That way, people who may not have the time to look up those people who have a much more interesting story than what is being told about them in the two to 3 sentences written might be able to glimpse them and have a much better understanding of who they are. There are two small things I'd like to add to clear up some immediate confusion to the idea. 1. Just because they are in this new obituary type page doesn't mean that they can't have the 3 sentence obituary on the front page that they usually receive, it just allow some more in depth knowledge on people that are in the vault. 2. It doesn't all have to be written by the host. This is where I think the cool part of the idea is. This new vault could have obituaries written by any participant of the DDP that wants to make a contribution to the DDP, so members who want to help with the DDP all year actually have something to do other than comment on mistakes that were made or stuff like that... Of course, this is only idea, and ask questions if you want anything cleared up, but I think it's cool enough to have a mention anyways...

Yes, though since it's his second time that he is in remission, I think that it might be years before the cancer comes back and gets him for good. On the other hand, this is very good news for golden slumbers, who now really only have to worry about Elias (who will die), Booth (who probably will die) and Meads (who might die) from taking the title from him at this point...
-
Er, I'll wait for a more reliable source, but that is potentially a huge surprise indeed. It might also serve the committee right to not include him on this year's list then...

Of course, Spade's only survivor from 2016 is Luke Halpin, which is certainly very impressive...
