Actually, for me it is the opposite. I want to win; and even if I include a lot of dead-cert terminally ill folk, I'm still worried about how fast they'll die. Which is why I took out Emma Morano and Yisrael Kristal, and am having trouble deciding if I should include Gregorio Alvarez and Mario Soares (it's either both or neither, cause if I choose just one - the other will die). Something that I am learning when doing teams for deathrace, Shaun's Deaths by Number's and the DDP for the very first time (not really taking the Hartlepool Deadlypool seriously and it's mainly old folk for hares) is your team can't just be filled with terminally ill dead certs. You got to find the right mix of 100% dead certs and the folk that may or may not die/obit in order to do well at these things. Of course, Deathrace I won't be submitting until the 30th, and Shaun's dead pool and the DDP will be submitted the 31st just in case more people announce their illness in the next week.

Gil Parrondo is dead at 95. He won two academy awards for best art direction in 1971 and 1972: http://cultura.elpais.com/cultura/2016/12/24/actualidad/1482597133_504604.html

Rivers died a week after the situation occurred, so maybe Carrie Fisher will make the starting line. She probably doesn't have that long afterwards as well.
-
Apparently he died from an infection caused by a shoulder injury. Unnatural bonus points or not?
-
Does he know it's Christmas time at all?
-
Already mentioned in another thread, but he died aged 68: http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-38427459

Praying for another week in her at least. Please!!!

Yeah, next time you should look a few posts up.

This years Etta James? Although it could've been exaggerated.

Anyone want to do sweepstakes? I say January 3rd, after barely making the deathlist in 2017. EDIT: can somone move it to the Star Wars thread or possibly her own thread?
-
If she somehow makes the starting line, please put Carrie Fisher as number one on the list.

Looks like the podium is all sorted out now. Obviously in first place is Death Impends with his wise choice of Ken Hechler, dying hours after AA Gill. Second place is kind of unexpected, but nevertheless, it goes to Rotten Ali for his selection of Zsa Zsa Gabor. Third place was the death that was announced today, Piers Sellers, who was chosen by Captain Chorizo. Congrats to the podium finishers. Now, will anyone else die in the next two days?

Come on Fisher. If you have to go, please at least hold on for eight days. All I'm asking. Don't think it's likely sadly
-
bit harsh don't you think. just jokes and sarcasm I'm a mad motherfucker, but not that mad uvah mudafucka. Did that actually go through the fucking swear filter?Apparently not effing.

Never said that guy was more famous. I'm just not seeing any qualifying obituaries right now.
-
He died two days ago. I discovered his obit today. That was before the Carrie Fisher breaking news thing anyways.
-
I wasn't one of them because I don't consider him deathlisty. Though he might not get any obit with everyone focusing on Carrie Fisher.
-
Looks like Nobby Stiles will be back on my team after all

So, How's Your 2017 Shortlist Looking?
Joey Russ replied to msc's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I'm not adding Carrie Fisher, I don't think she'll see the starting line to be honest. -
Looked her up, and her death was not mentioned in the strapline. That's why.
