I was definitely aware that Nikki Grahame was picked but I was pretty busy today, hence why the update isn’t until now. So, it is common in the early stages of the cup to have some sort of punt picks on your team. Indeed, people love to punt in folk like Bella Thorne and Kanye West in the first three rounds, so when I saw Nikki on maryport’s team, I assumed she was just that. However, I was clearly wrong in this case, and as such maryport takes the lead against Bibliogryphon, who’s hoping to get his second cup hit this round. So for the first time in my tenure as host, I have to prepare a coin toss. And no, Bibliogryphon doesn’t have to wait and see if he’s a lucky loser since he actually scored for once! No, this time it’s theoldlady and deadsox who has to wait and see if they win the coin toss. Hey, a coin toss in March. Deadsox won one of those in 2017. But nothing eventful came from that coin toss, definitely not. But, it remains to be seen, does he move on or is he stuck in round 2? And if he loses, could theoldlady be the one who makes it all the way? So being a host gets you in a bit of a massive disadvantage. As you look at my team in general, it is filled with a lot more punt picks because there wasn’t very many sure bets around, and it was basically a casual match in February so no names I could steal. So I expected no points this round. However, because cult Romanian musician Rodion Rosca has died (and there’s also one obit in English), I actually get to sneak in a unique hit before the month ends. A bit of a consolation for my team that never really stood a chance... You’re responding to a post when I was a bit more naive. A few years have past and I now recognize how influential an author she was.

No, it was in fact the idea that Bibliogryphon could actually score a point in a cup round. However, beloved author Beverly Cleary has died, and because of that the unthinkable actually happened. As such, Bibliogryphon takes the lead against Etush in his cup match! He doesn’t get a unique hit however as Markb4 also had Cleary on his team. A bit of a consolation in his matchup I would say.
