Btw, for those wondering about the Lorimer situation apparently since then it looks as if he’s still alive and the mods even locked the Lorimer thread until more info is known. So may be a sigh of relief for all the cup pickers of him.

So at this point I am waiting for @Sir Creep, @Perhaps, @HDS, @Clorox Bleachman, @Banana, and @Spade_Cooley. Most of whom are your usual last minute submitters anyways, but time is crunching

If you do pick Lorimer as a joker please send in a backup joker just in case though. And if he’s officially dead in the next few hours then I will add a 12 hour extension but as it stands round 2 will start at the normal time.

So here’s what to do with Lorimer for any future cup submitters. For now, have him on your squad if you plan to choose to. Unless a news organization officially confirms his death I’ll treat him as alive. However, if you do joker him please name a backup joker in case it’s confirmed he’s actually dead. Additionally, I am considering to extend the time for those already submitted to an additional 12 hours for those who already sent something in to name a replacement joker. I’ll decide if that’s necessary later before the deadline. However, this extension is only for those already submitted. If you don’t submit something by the usual deadline there’s no getting in for you. Hopefully that’s fair enough for folk.

Alright, as it seems like Lorimer has passed, here is the drill. Every one of you who jokered him need to send a backup joker to me before the deadline. If you don’t send a backup joker, then your top name will automatically get joker status. Want to make that very clear in case people complain tomorrow that they don’t have the joker choice they wanted.

With a little over 6 hours to go, I am still waiting for 11 teams to submit something. Most of them are usually last minute submitters but they are a few question marks this time.

Btw, he wasn’t picked in March or an official February team but Jorge Oñate has died. The reason I bring him up was that he was on Perhaps’ cup team, who unless I missed somebody looks to have 20 unofficial cup points for this round. So even though he didn’t compete, he would’ve squonked that twat anyways. Btw, Annami would’ve gotten 18 points this time I believe. So unofficially they got the two best cup scores for this round. Kudos to both of them...

I believe many folks game end today (since there’s no February 30th). I still have til March 2nd, but my chances still seem very unlikely at this point...

It is possible however that a few members might forget to send something in. Because of that possibility, we do have some losers who have an opportunity to come back to the competition if one of more team members don’t submit on time. The loser rankings has a priority though. It goes by 1) highest point total in a losing match, 2) if point totals are the same then the team with the lowest deficit gets the advantage, 3) if the point defect is the same then the youngest age of the hit/s will come into play, and 4) if all three are considered equal, then random.org will decide which team will get the advantage. As such, this months top 3 lucky loser list goes as followed: 1. CalebH 2. Gooseberry Crumble 3. nantonian2013 So even though it seems like you might be done, if folk don’t submit a team you might luck out and get a second round of the competition. As what happened last time in round 2 too.

Oh I certainly wasn’t expecting much from Biden at all. I was very much a Bernie Sanders supporter, but once the establishment dems lined up to take out Bernie Sanders the weekend before Super Tuesday it was effectively Biden. He definitely was among the worst choices during the primary (though at least he’s not Bloomberg), and honestly Biden lucked out cause of Covid

That may be true, but that still doesn’t excuse him bombing other countries. I mentioned it more for the fact that the militia that was bombed was backed by Iran, which really destroys the possibility of getting the Iran deal back together. Which again, it was one of the few undeniably good things done during the Obama administration.

So it’s been about month since the Biden administration came into office, and would you look at that, they are already setting into place a red wave for 2022. How you ask? Well, I think two actions really signifies how much of a joke they really are. First, it was reported yesterday that Biden bombed Iranian backed groups in Syria. Obviously this is illegal under international law in the first place, but this is even more infuriating because it seems to really put cold water from ever re-entering the Iran Deal if he’s willing to bomb their forces. And remember, the Iran Deal is one of the few completely good things that happened under the Obama administration. The fact he can’t even rejoin that is super pathetic. The other thing that happened yesterday was that the parliamentarian ruled against raising the minimum wage for budget reconciliation. Now, some people think that’s the end of that, but the Vice President can actually overrule the parliamentarian on this. And everything seems to be pointing towards that she won’t do that even though she can overrule the parliamentarian. Or, Chuck Schumer could fire the parliamentarian just like Trent Lott did in 2001 when they ruled on something that the Republicans didn’t like to do. Tbf to Schumer, it’s possible he does that soon, but I honestly doubt it. And some people may say that it would struggle to pass anyways with folk like Manchin and Sinema opposed to it, but by not even overruling the parliamentarian you’re already waving the white flag saying that you won’t even fight. I don’t want to hear from folk again that the dems are good guys, because they clearly aren’t. At best they are incompetent, at worst they are evil. Yes, they are still better than the Republicans but that is literally the lowest bar possible to clear. They shouldn’t be just clearing it, and yet that’s all they seem to do. I say these intense criticisms not because I absolutely despise the Democrats (I absolutely want Biden to do the right thing in office), but more out of fear. Because if they don’t change things fast, they are really paving the way for an even worse Republican to take office, and possibly the end of Democracy in the US as we know it.
