Maradona another death within the Queen's lifespan
-
On an international stage I imagine Maradona is biggest, but I suspect the American audience doesn't think he's the biggest given that football (or soccer as well call it here) isn't really that big in the US.

Next week, someone is going to start a thread for my 90 year old grandmother considering the things way are going aren’t they?
-
Who will win the 2020 US Presidential Election?
Joey Russ replied to Windsor's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
This is Blinken’s record, which isn’t good (then again Biden’s foreign policy was never going to be good): -

You know, sometimes you get annoyed by threads that will last a long time, and other times you get a laugh cause it doesn’t last too long.
-
She is, but isn't the only senator that's currently serving who's old as fuck (Chuck Grassley is also 87, and Richard Shelby and Jim Inhofe (who just won reelection again) are 86). All of them need to retire asap.

Who will win the 2020 US Presidential Election?

I’m just laughing at how laughably bad some of Trump’s arguments are. It ain’t going nowhere. Yeah, I’m certainly going to be critical of the Biden administration (and looking at some of his cabinet picks so far, it ain’t looking good so far). It’s just Trump was even worse as a whole and needed to go out. And he did (Georgia already certified Biden’s win there, and other GOP leaders in Pennsylvania and Michigan don’t look like they’ll budge). -
Who will win the 2020 US Presidential Election?
Joey Russ replied to Windsor's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Of the names mentioned, Collins and Murkowski gotta keep their moderate image, Romney and to a lesser extent Sasse gotta keep an anti Trump image (even though every time they’re against Trump it’s pointless), McSally defeated in general, Roberts and Alexander retiring after this term, Toomey retiring after 2022 (probably Burr too, although he’s not absolute), and while nothing’s been announced yet everything is pointing towards Shelby retiring in 2022. Which has 9 to 10 senators at least who don’t really face any repercussions for saying stuff privately, yet apart from Romney (who again, is speaking out when it’s totally meaningless), they aren’t really speaking out against Trump’s action. -
Given it's almost time for entries for the new crowdsource list to open up (and I wasn't in the best mental health the past few months, which is why it isn't earlier), now I think is the time to reveal everyone who was nominated for the list. This includes the original 50 for this year and everyone else who was nominated. So here you might be able to find some folk who might have a shot at making it next time. So here it is: Kirk Douglas 1128 (5th, 1st) Alex Trebek 1043 (NEW) Prince Philip 1028 (5th, 12th) Vera Lynn 931 (5th, 6th) Jimmy Carter 832 (5th, 21st) Bob Dole 780 (4th, 15th) Genesis P-Orridge 742 Ice Bucket Challenge cofounder Pat Quinn dead at 37
-
Well, it took well over a month between the death of RBG and Nobby. And indeed we’ll over a month between De Havilland and Gates Sr (I think it took over a month between Stiller and Lynn too). So wouldn’t be too shocking if it takes well over a mont for the next hit, or if the next hit doesn’t come at all.

Who will win the 2020 US Presidential Election?
Joey Russ replied to Windsor's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Yep, that’s clearly what happened: -
Probably should’ve said this when the thread opened up, but while I’m prepping to open up on Friday, you are perfectly fine to try to push for folk to make the list. Me personally, all I need is Ronald Reagan and Peter Falk, and I’m good...

I’m gonna take that as probably a no then. -
Donald Trump Jr has covid:
-
Yeah, but the last death was Kennedy who won the 1960 election. Reagan (who was wounded from an assassination attempt) and Bush Jr outlived their presidencies. Which means I wouldn’t put too much stock into that.

Ah, he’s still dead then. Thanks for reminding me
