Bert Trautmann basically decided to retire from the forums after his DDP win in 2017, so I imagine he’s still alive, just moved on with his life.

The Big Book of DeathList's Great mistakes

Can’t believe people are forgetting about William Hartnell for the added posthumously names. Arguably the biggest of the four above too... -

Was more thinking in the mind of the committee rather than what should happen... -

Considering so many bedblockers have died this year I think this makes it extremely unlikely that they’ll drop Betty White. They need to find new bedblockers now, and she’s a perfect contender... -

Little Richard should’ve been kept on. Though knowing the committee they probably would’ve dropped someone like Jerry Stiller if he did get carried over tbh. -

It’s down to the final 3, with the choices being Beverly Cleary, Ronald Atkins, and Marvin Creamer.

Do me a favor and shut up with your continued nonsense, okay? Jesus Christ you’re more unbearable than usual.

And that’s how Bob Dole will live to 100 ladies and gentlemen.

I can’t really see any of the current centenarian batch to make the Deathlist it alive apart from Captain Tom Moore (who isn’t really Deathlisty imo) and Clarissa Eden. All of the rest of the centenarians still alive are far more niche names than actual A List/notable names. Besides, they generally don’t put a ton of brand new centenarians on the list anyhow...

My intention was to be an interim host to make sure the cup didn’t die out because it really is a great competition. So now the plan is hoping that someone is willing to take over the cup and run it a bit more long term. If someone doesn’t host this time around I would be willing to host one more cup in 2021, BUT THAT’S IT. This isn’t something that I really want to do for the long term, especially when I’m at a stage in my life where I’m finally figuring out what I really want to do with my life. And well, the last 24 - 48 hours of an entry period can really take my focus away from other important things I need to focus on at times. That’s why I prefer hosting crowdsource entry btw, the only really stressful time is around the point in a year where there isn’t really much to do and the rest of the year you only need to write obits when the picks actually dies. Anyways, here’s hoping someone is able to take over as a more permanent host, and if not I am willing to host one more season, but that’s it.

Well, here’s a very uninspired ABC team. As you can tell, I’m not expecting to win this at all: Armstrong, Bullet Bob Banali, Frankie Cullen, Michael Derek Draper Eden, Clarissa Foskett, Jeffery Gulpilil, David Henderson, Brian Ion Iliescu Jana Bennett Kerslake, Lee Limbaugh, Rush Martino, Pat Nordland, Rod Ono, Yoko Pat Smullen Quentin Blake Robertson, Gavin Sylvain Sylvain Trebek, Alex Urquhart, Brian Varsha, Bob Woodward, Joanne Xan, Lil Yoo Sang-chul Zanardi, Alex

Just here to note that @An Fear Beag has officially won the 2020 Deathlist Cup

And just like that, the cup has officially ended. Where has all this time gone? There were 42 competitors who wanted to win the cup, and believe me when I say that there were plenty of awesome matches done throughout the tournament. However, 41 folk despite wanting to win it unfortunately fell short of the ultimate prize. That’s okay though, there’s always next year: One person, however, ended up winning it all. This person even said that their research skills are a bit insufficient when he joined the cup, and just hoped to make it to the next round. Not only did he make it past further into the cup than anticipated, he ended up winning the whole bloody thing. So, after giving the host so many panic attacks by turning stuff in super close to the deadline and beating legends such as Death Impends, Clorox, DeathByArsenic, YoungWillz, alt obits guy, and markb4, I officially congratulate An Fear Beag as the winner of the 2020 Deathlist Cup. Thank you all for participating and hopefully the cup will be running next year.

Any idea on if the obit requirements will be updated in any capacity come 2021? Not saying everything should come back (stuff like Yahoo and Huff Post are rightfully axed), but The Independent would be nice for some of the more interesting folk who missed out on a UK obit due to that cut (Albert Memmi a very recent example of that).
