The Cardinals Of The Roman Catholic Church
arrowsmith replied to Pagad Ultimo's topic in DeathList Forum
Eleven if you count former cardinals - Pope Benedict was once a Cardinal and born in 1927. Also he is the last cardinal named by Pope Paul VI. -
I believe he was also the last to attend all of the sessions. Double checked - definitely the last council father present at all four sessions. His death leaves eight remaining and only one living bishop appointed by Pope John XXIII.

You are quite right @Ulitzer95’s reply was classy because Gisooo, despite his errors, is acting in good faith. That jackass from yesterday is a borderline troll who deserves a more stern response. He consistently violates forum norms and half the time a thread is bumped it’s him making some inane comment.
-
But Gisooo just found out about it! It’s perfectly reasonable to post previously posted news if one just read about it, and not annoying at all! Reminding newer posters, who are so concerned about being first that they don’t do any research before posting, not to flood the forums with months old news is rude. Right @Lafaucheuse? Or was it just my profanity you objected to?
-
It’s common courtesy to read things before posting. You are an ass.
-
Read the fucking articles.

Meh. Trichinosis doesn’t usually kill you.
-
There should be a hopeful reaction. Like fingers crossed. So I’ll just say fingers crossed.

Well, it’s actually not relative. The man was well known to be ill and he received a qualifying obituary. Your opinion and general lack of knowledge are irrelevant. He is well known in the U.K. among people with an interest in U.S. politics and among serious deadpoolers. You are obviously neither. Furthermore, the person you initially got into this foolish squabble with was @Ulitzer95 so you’re obviously wrong, as he’s right about (nearly) everything.
-
I suppose the issue here is you claiming you have a “mild” interest in American politics. I have no interest in British politics but if I claimed a “mild” interest I’d think I would know who the leader of the opposition is. Stop obfuscating and claiming Senator Reid is obscure when you are just trying to cover for ignorance of a topic about which you claim to be interested.
-
If your general interest only began in the last few years that is excusable. Anyone paying attention during the Bush and Obama presidencies would be aware of him. Also he gets talked about on these forums with regularity.
-
Excellent. A subgroup that I keep track of is everyone in the 1955 World Series. At this point among the Dodgers is only Koufax, Erskine, and Craig.

The Cardinals Of The Roman Catholic Church

I also thought we might be losing an unusually high number of Cardinals. Turns out we somewhat are: 2021: 14 (so far) 2020: 7 2019: 14 2018: 5 2017: 16 2016: 6 2015: 12 2014: 10 2013: 11 2012: 8 2011: 9 -
John Shelby Spong, Episcopal bishop of Newark NJ and quite the controversial figure in his day, dead at 90. https://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2021/sep/12/john-shelby-spong-liberal-episcopal-bishop-dies-ag/

You may be alone there.

I predict the grim reaper is going to confound sceptics and be its most powerful yet like a super strong enema in 2024 moreso than recent years equalling or even beating 2020
arrowsmith replied to Gooseberry Crumble's topic in DeathList Forum
I thought the super enema or whatever was supposed to be stronger than last year? So far it’s just a tiny, wet fart. -
Not a bishop, former priest.

John Dean Alfred Baldwin Spencer Oliver Hugh Sloan Judy Hoback Miller Alexander Butterfield Dwight Chapin Kenneth Parkinson ? Gordon Strachan Daniel Ellsberg Herbert Porter Carl Bernstein Bob Woodward David Young Earl Silbert Harry Rosenfeld Barry Sussman Donald Segretti Still some big names around.
-
Only two by my count: Froines and Weiner.
-
Possibly 3 as there still isn’t an adequate citation for the death of Kenneth Parkinson, the only one acquitted. Wikipedia has him dying in October of 2016 but I’ve been looking for confirmation since then and have found nothing.
-
Also his mother lived to be 97 and was active until quite late in life.

Gloria Steinem was a journalist not a lawyer. Though still a solid pick.
