    Next shocking death?

To be fair, that's very much arguable.

    Next shocking death?

    Leah fucking Bracknell

    Next shocking death?

So is this designed to be a Shocking Deaths - Greatest Hits album, to run alongside a thread for every single genre of celebrity?
  4. Was just idly scrolling through the forums and had a bit of a DL history lesson; Some of the threads from 2004 are fucking hilarious! I was choking half to death at the Emlyn Hughes Ranters Thread, full of irate, unappreciative guests such as this charming lot: Wonder why we don't let guests post anymore?

Good call. I've heard he's getting forgetful nowadays.

New Here And Just Saying Hello

'ite mate. We've been waiting for you. I'm no seasoned veteran/multitwunt yet, but my understanding is that there's an unwritten common sense checklist: will we know who they are? What's the state of their lifestyle/current health/age? If they're just old, are they really old (nonagenarian plus) and/or suddenly quiet? Will @Cat O'Falk diligently link me to a thread that's already been made? I dunno, I just let other people do all that. I'm just here for a laugh and to shout at Leah Bracknell for proving my predictions wrong over and over. Enjoy!

Very pleased the worst of it is over, and wish her a speedy recovery. Now get some sleep man!

    Death Anniversary Thread

Chairman Mao become sad victim of Glim Leaper on this day in 4673 Fire Dragon, aged 82.
  10. Takes all sorts I suppose, but there's NO excusing that fucking name

    Olivia Newton-John

It may or may not play a small part in it I feel I've had so much involvement in her still being alive, I deserve to be named in her will. Not that she needs one of course, the terminally alive fucker.

    Olivia Newton-John

If she goes along with all these 'alternative treatments' as opposed to non-bullshit ones, and survives only a couple of months, then we'll know for sure that Leah Bracknell is in fact a witch.
  13. Personally, I think it's got about 16 tracks too many.

    Olivia Newton-John

I definitely laughed at that autocorrect typo a lot more than I should've
  15. Two very similar names, two very, very different songs:

    Death In The Family

Mate that's awful. My thoughts are with you and yours, Phil.
  18. A bit poppier than my usual, but somehow I think it's tremendous
  19. Listening to The Kooks' new album, Let's Go Sunshine. Very, very unshit. Here's one from it: There's plenty of good stuff on the album, though of course Naïve from however many years ago does take some beating.
  20. Amusing to see such a comment from "Joeyruss's bitch"
  21. I've not a second of my life for horse shit, and so I'm sorry my responses aren't the positive, self-actualisation coach, Mr Motivator, Yankee doodle mollycoddling, soapy titwank utterances you're after. Don't take this or any other of the firmer, less positive responses as deliberate, vitriolic slagging down, take it as tough love. Self-pity from anyone wears thin if you're not a samaritan. I know it's not nice, not fair, I get that, and what you may or may not be going through is horrendous, but such is life. Stopping doing all that routine myself several years ago helped me enormously, primarily because that perception of me as a woe-is-me type stopped. Need help? Go and get it. This site isn't help.
  22. Horse's arse. Cringeable horse's arse. An example of a hard realisation would be that life does not pan out like some American self help audiobook, articulated patronisingly by an appalling narcissist who suggests you do and be as they do. Life can be marvellous, but life also has this sadistic propensity to serve up double helpings of tough shit, whether it be just or not, because life has all the conscience of Hitler's lost bollock. Point is, no, don't bother trying to learn to love yourself more and all such jargon. That'd make you a self help book, and they belong in the bin. Tolerate yourself, yes, by all means that is a must. Be comfortable with your own persona. Have a bit of common sense, soak up some fucking realism and laugh off all the stuff you don't like. That's a way to become more at ease with oneself, and life in general. Hey, do that well and there's a chance you won't end up an embittered, cynical old fud. Or, indeed, a 'part time cunt'. Basically like a lot of the rest of us. But if you do, that is at least better than being a narcissist. Or a self help author.
