As an aside, apparently Texas is once again reducing restrictions on ownership like literally today or tomorrow, so...I'm going to take a wild guess about which state the next mass shooting will be in.

Surprise, it's Texas again - 5 dead, 21 injured so far: https://www.huffingtonpost.in/entry/odessa-shooting-texas-injuries_n_5d6ae71fe4b09bbc9ef00f20

I'm still calling conspiracy theory on the cancer diagnosis being faked given how long she's somehow lived with it

Honestly, glad to see I'm not the only one thinking dementia or some other cognitive disorder. And it's not even excusable gaffes either - the Vemont thing is understandable given the demands of the campaign trail, the "poor kids are just as smart as white kids" or whatever he said was daft and anyone could have seen the backlash coming. He tried to make up for it, but the Biden of even the VP years doesn't make the mistake to begin with.

Paul Mercer, who was at the time of death thought to be the oldest living Montreal Canadien and oldest living Stanley Cup winner, has died aged 90. Campbell's a reliable hockey journalist, and the only other source I could find is one of those random obit websites, so this the tweet will do.

Thoughts and opinions on the death list 2019
CastAway replied to The Mad Hatter's topic in DeathList Forum
I mean, I won't complain if some of the bed warmers on the list/various deadpools get claimed. But it seems like a lot of people who would be certs for next year are dying ASAP post diagnosis of fatal illnesses, while Bracknell continues to make me question if she ever had cancer to begin with. -

Agreed - it's not even the main DL, even the Drop 40's doing pretty poorly this year, so it's not like the masses were better at picking than the committee. Barring a seriously major death, this year's just not too big of a blip on the 'celebrity death' radar, IMO. -
Should point out that the wrong Koch brother's marked as dead in the A-Z list - it's David that's carked it, not Charles.

Former Republican US Representative for Kansas Jan Meyers dead at 90. https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/article231849923.html I don't think her death is involved with the conspiracy theories re: the shot state reps, but who knows

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2019/may/17/herman-wouk-obituary Guardian obit, but I still can't find one from the BBC yet...
-
I need a new go-to now that Wouk is gone, so Kirk Douglas it is for me! (Yes, this is going to be another repeat affair until I'm right - let's hope it isn't the 2 years+ that Wouk was, though)
-
Another attempt at Wouk for me

Let's try Herman Wouk once more...

No worries! I'll take Javier Perez de Cuellar - maybe we'll also get a hit for the main DL at the same time?
-
I'll take Hyun Soong-jong It's been so long since a noteworthy hit anywhere that this thread completely slipped my mind. Things need to spice up soon.
