    Hospitalised!

https://www.timesnownews.com/world/brazilian-president-jair-bolsonaro-hospitalised-after-feeling-unwell-article-90507510 Bolsanaro in the hospital. Probably nothing but he's a relevant enough name that I thought he should be mentioned.

Just saw that. Been reeling from this coming out of nowhere, and hockey social media is collectively in shock. Popped up on Twitter as soon as it was posted, and I genuinely had to check it was an official source. Also had to make sure that I hadn't lost time and today was April 1.

    Vladimir Putin

Oh, they're very upset. https://nypost.com/2022/03/25/sanctioned-russian-oligarch-whines-he-cant-pay-bills-afford-driver-or-cleaner/ Take this guy, who is traumatized by the fact that he cannot hire a driver or cleaner for his London home and his stepdaughter may have to learn to drive herself when she grows up (she's 8). He's also very upset that he's being deported maybe because he doesn't want to go back to Russia w/o his wife+stepkid and they won't come with him.

    Political Frailty

RIA's Twitter reported him as dead as well for a bit, but that seems have been taken down as well. I'm inclined to believe that this is right in that he's on his deathbed - or that he's already dead, and they're holding back announcing it for some reason, and one person jumped ship.

Seddon posts that news of Vladimir Zhirinovsky's death has also been confirmed by Russian news website RIA Novosti. He was 75. His Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vladimir_Zhirinovsky

Was her cancer ever announced? if not, no surprised it came out of nowhere - similar (lack of prior cancer announcement) happened with the Black Panther actor whose name I'm blanking on

The Insider is an independent Russian news outlet that has exposed Russian governmental lies during several issues, including the Skripal and Navalny poisonings, and has worked with Bellingcat in the past. They currently operate out of Latvia IIRC due to Russian laws. Like with the other journalists, I fully expect the death of one of their own on the field will make it to all the obit-relevant papers, so thought I'd put it here as well.

Corsican nationalist Yvan Colonna reported dead widely on Twitter. His assault in prison caused MAJOR riots in Corsica, to the point where Marcon was thinking about giving them some additional considerations. Expect widespread chaos over the next few days if you follow French news

fair, but when I looked that seemed to be the place where a number of Holocaust survivor deaths were reported. I wasn't sure if Boris Romantschenko fit the "notable victims of the war" category, but he was definitely someone whose death should be reported so. wondering if a new "Holocaust survivor deaths" thread would be a better option in the long term

i'd be very hesitant to believe that, because Russia's been saying they killed him once every couple of days. If the Ukrainians come out and confirm or his family does, sure. but as it stands this is just rinse and repeat Russian tactics.

from UKR's side, expect Azov Battalion leader Denys Prokopenko to be a casualty as well. Azov's fighting in Mariupol rn, and unless somehow UKR can get reinforcements there (at the moment they're saying it's impossible), Azov's going to be decimated no matter how hard they fight. at some point they'll run out of weapons, and they'll be the perfect "denazification" examples for Russia. ofc, things can change and if reinforcements can get there, that's a different matter. but so far, that's another possibility.

Notable Victims of the Russo-Ukrainian war

honestly if at this point you know the names of high enough Russian officers in Ukraine, add them to your upcoming deadpools. they're very likely to die, and given the interest in the war, will probably get some sort of relevant newspaper obit. also update re: the generals kill list mentioned above. 4 major generals + 1 lt. general killed - 5 down. Russia was estimated to have sent 20 generals to Ukraine, so in just over 3 weeks, their death rate is a respectable 25%. based on the last few killed, 1 general is being killed every 3 or so days, so we'll probably get a new one soonish. there's enough dead that there's a new Wiki page dedicated to killed Russian generals in Ukraine: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Russian_generals_killed_during_the_2022_invasion_of_Ukraine
