    Catherine Windsor AKA Kate Middleton

What I didn't really understand is her saying that the treatment was preventative. Does it refer to something other than the form of cancer she already has?

    Rosalynn Carter

My favorite first lady and the only likeable famous person who shared my birthday...sad to see her go. At least she didn't have to spend a single day without the love of her life. Think the main reason Jimmy held on as long as he did (other than his exceptional genes, of course) was to spare her the sorrow of having to see him die. Or maybe that's just what my romantic soul wants to think. In any case, 77 years of marriage is something most of us will never be lucky enough to even come close to. So her and Jimmy is really as good as it gets. Rest in peace, Rosalynn

The wiki page lists two different birth years - is it 1924 or 1926?

Sad news maybe her long, happy life was the most anyone could ever hope for, but it's still sad to see her go.

It wouldn't make sense not having the two of them together. They won't survive long without each other.

    Thoughts On The 2022 List

Gorbachev is a good addition, Michael Gambon not so much. Overall it feels like they're playing it safe after last year's underwhelming results. Could have been worse

    Alexey Navalny

That's the same thing people used to say before he got poisoned. After the way Nemtsov was murdered a few years ago, it should have been clear that no one was off-limits.

Ah, a good old fashioned Christmas death. It would have been so anticlimactic for this year to end without one

It seemed like he would live to see 2021, but no such luck he was one of the good guys.

Let's hope it doesn't this long for them to realize\acknowledge that the authoritarian restrictions became indefensible back in late April\early May, when it became clear they do more harm than good.

    Ruth Bader Ginsburg

When you feel hopeless, hurt or suicidal, getting told to "get help" or "talk to someone" (in other words, having to actively initiate a conversation with some stranger who doesn't really care about you specifically) is of very little help. Just an observation.

We'll miss you, Vera why couldn't it have been Philip instead?

The most important factor, by far, is genetics... since you're a man, you're already at a major disadvantage.

    Prince Philip Duke Of Edinburgh

This sounds a lot like Bush Sr. spending one final summer in Maine

When will Harry and meghan divorce if at all?

What would be the point? She's digging her own grave as far as public opinion is concerned By the time she starts trying to cause real problems, everyone (including Harry) will have moved on.

Emma Morano looked happier and healthier at 117, but even she couldn't make it to 118. I do think we'll have at least one 118 or even 119 year old in the 2020's, but it feels very unlikely Kane Tanaka will be the one to break that barrier again. You can really tell she lost a lot of her energy and freedom of movement these past few months. She just looks really good to us in comparison to the two previous Japanese record holders, who were both extremely frail and it's a wonder they got as far as they did. But once a supercentenarian starts deteriorating, even a strong one like her...

Thoughts and Opinions on the 2020 List

Pretty good list overall. RBG debuting at the right moment. The only disappointing drop is Gorbachev - he's very unlikely to live to be 90\91.
