What a fucking world. From the BBC: South African triathlete Mhlengi Gwala in hospital after attack with saw South African triathlete Mhlengi Gwala has reportedly been attacked while training by three men attempting to cut off his legs with a saw. Gwala's training partner Sandile Shange told the BBC the 26-year-old is stable in hospital and his injuries are not life-threatening. The attack reportedly happened in the early hours of Tuesday in Durban while Gwala was on a training ride. The men cut into both of Gwala's legs before he was able to escape. Police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala told the BBC that a case of attempted murder is being investigated. "He thought they were coming to rob him, stopped and gave them his phone but they didn't want his phone, didn't want his watch or bicycle," Shange said. "They dragged him to the side of the road to some bushes, took a saw and started cutting his legs. "They kept on cutting and when they got to the bone, because the saw was not that sharp, the saw got stuck. When they saw it was getting stuck they started on the other leg." -

Tactless Question for Poms: Is this Town England's A*hole Capital?
Bentrovato replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Lived in all three for some time some years ago. Wellingborough is the only place I have lived that had a curfew on the centre of town. Began at 7pm but I did not know it had been put in place. Went into a pub and ordered a pint. The landlord served me and then said I had about 15 minutes to neck it and get out of dodge. Tosser. I think Northampton used a have a curfew as well. Some years ago again. But Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough make up the Bermuda Triangle of the Midlands. There are a lot of lost souls knocking around there. But the bass player from Mungo Jerry lived in Kettering. -

Place near me that is a total food poisoning hell and caters to pissed up morons on the weekend. When I first saw it it was American Chicken. Closed. Became USA chicken. Closed. Became Southern Chicken. Closed. Became Fresh Fried Chicken. Closed. Became US of A Chicken. Closed. Now trading as Great British Chicken. I expect it to close quite soon. All this in about three years. No wonder the locals look like shit.

Kettering and Wellingborough and Corby. Everywhere else in comparison is nice. -
18 months at the least. Then another 18 months before they announce it.

Question. A BMW has been abandoned outside my place for now 3 days. Is this long enough for me to be morally/ethically allowed to get a couple of mates to strip it for parts. Dilemma.

Loads of snow in the village last night. Put my boots on and trudged through it down to the local pub only to find it locked up. Not one person about. No sign of the landlord or any signs of any living being nearby. Then I remembered. It closed eight years ago for economic reasons. Nothing to do with the snow.
