For some reason, my brain refuses to read "Octopus of Odstock" and translates it as "Oedipus of Odstock".

Juuuuuust a touch morbid.

A quick look at the list of total posts there were quite a few sign ups towards the end of 2004 that have no posts to their name Come to think of it, I don't think I can remember my password, luckily I set my browser to remember my password Doesn't matter whether a "member" posts or not, they are members until they delete themselves. We have a lot of "lurkers" here who are members, and we should welcome them.

Notable event: Welcome, member number 2000. didnnt I just sayy thezat? Not anymore, it was (as usual) unreadable. I've warned you via PM, now I'll do it publicly: Unless you can prove you've lost both arms in a tragic accident and are typing with your feet, I'm going to keep deleting your drivel. It's neither funny nor worth reading. When and if you're actually drunk, discombobulated posts can be amusing (Christ knows I do it often enough) but this intential persona is not only boring, its annoying. Enjoy a one day vacation and think about it.

Notable event: Welcome, member number 2000. Who's the lucky person? I'm member 448 - that's a rise of 1552 in 19 months. A rise of over 300%! For crimony's sake, I quoted him. /whoosh

THAT is hilarious. -
Mongo impressed, very few people use that word and even fewer correctly.

A radiographer is an x-ray tech, that does not equate to radiation treatment. Quite different as one is tube generated and the other uses an isotope. Been there, done that; radiation treatment sucks.

My heart wouldn't dare attack me. Besides, a gypsy in Budapest told me years ago that I would die in the arms of a beautiful woman half my age by the hand of her jealous husband. What a way to go; I like it, still.

Not to mention someone I've dealt with for years now and this thread about gave me a coronary.

Have you seen the damage that can be done with a snooker cue TH? Not only seen it, have had the experience on both the giving and receiving ends.
-
Are you trying to get yourself abused? As you wish.

Among the mods, I have suggested this recently, but it would be several months before my idea came to pass. Also, it sounds as though rather than one meeting place, it could rather easily become a pub crawl. Security is not an issue; in my view, let whoever wants to attend, attend.

Hasn't that whole "moment of silence" thing been overused to the point of becoming trite?
-
Okay, this thread begs the question; who was the crazy Brit nerd that jumped on the daredevil bandwagon years aog? It was Eddie something. Ski jumper, as I recall.

Yet another thing for US to be mad at you about.

The Tender Bar by J.R. Moehringer. Highly recommend it. Amazon UK link. Amazon US link. -
Slim Pickens is the obvious choice, and a close second would be Alan Rickman in Diehard.

Swimming isn't a sport either, swimming is not drowning.

Yay Detroit! Hulluva game!

I still believe that Chapman was a lousy shot and was aiming for Yoko.

I'm an American born son of an Irish father and a Welsh mother, both of whom were children of Welsh/Irish marriages. I have no idea what that makes me: Welshish?
