I have heard of him, but then again, a physics professor I had a class with purely idolized the man. Be that as it may, don't you think winning a Nobel Prize pretty much covers the famous requirement?

I do admire an agitator, Stayin', but might'nt James be a drive-by and, if so, shouldn't you defend his honor (or is that humor).

Laughing like a wild man and can barely type, GR, as I had forgotten all about the "don't panic" line. Sort of leads us back to the Rasputin theory, doesn't it?

At this point, and as an atypical "Yank", absolutely nothing the glazed over religious fanatics anywhere in the Middle East (or here in the states for that matter) would surprise me anymore.

Got home with a bit of a heat on last night, and turned on the TV to find an old show on an obscure channel that gave me a thought; do you suppose it's going to take Adrian Paul chopping off Clive Dunn's head to get it done?

Darn it, I thought my play on "Typhoid Mary" was funny (although not sure whether the "Island Types" will understand. If interested; http://history1900s.about.com/library/weekly/aa062900a.htm ). But "Hemlock Holmes" is so much more sophisticated, not too mention alliterative.

Sorry, Reaper, there's been a shortage of labour requirements over here, so I had to cancel those Czechs. Oops! Now I'm the one who forgot to log in after doing routine housekeeping... Problem fixed - DWB

Everybody chant in Buddhist Thai; "six more months, six more months..."

What's really funny about that is I originally typed "cheque", and then changed it because I thought it sounded pretentious coming from an American. I'm no anglophile, or anything like it (the royals really crack me up, though), I just realize that most of the DL'ers are Brits and I prefer to be understood.

If they do (and I know you were winking when you said it, but I wouldn't be terribly surprised) they will have seen their last check from me.

Summer Olympic Deaths/Dead Medallists

Sir Roger Bannister isn't looking too spry, either... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics_2...ies/3842065.stm -
...but too funny! there are 91, and counting, different headers at IMDB over the Farenheit 9/11 debacle. (By the way, the book this movie rips it's title off from is another Vonnegut piece.) http://imdb.com/title/tt0361596/board/threads/

Things to do while waiting for Death ... 2004

Okay, so Rude Kid just made my day, and ruined my weekend! I'll be trying to get this poor kraut home forever... (65 meters so far). -
Nope, he's still kickin' and screaming, unfortunately, but he's definitely a favorite for '05. Again, if he holds out that long.

That was me, above, and once before as well. Moron that I am, I forget to log in, from time to time... "Momma always said, life is like a box of chocolates.."

If you're feeling strong of stomach today, this will fix it! http://www.tammyfaye.com/note20040616.htm

Looking through a few past issues of Variety, these names seemed to qualify. Anyone got anymore on them? Rodney Dangerfield, 82, seems to not be doing so well these past few years. Eddie Albert, 96, star of the old "Green Acres" sitcom. Red Buttons, 85, has been in the hospital recently. Max Schmelling, 98, must be due soon. Jane Wyman, former wife of Reagan might have simply wanted to outlast him. Sir John Mills, 94?

Upon observing Mr. "Private Citizen" Bush Sr. participating in a U.S. Army skydiving activity, I rang my nearest military facility to inquire as to equal treatment for my own b'day (same day as the ex-prez's, BTW). No dice. Seems Orwell was correct, some pigs ARE more equal than others. -

In the "It's Been Done" department: http://imdb.com/title/tt0094963/combined -
I saw Mr. Awful Knawful in a local watering hole a few months ago and he looked, in a word, awful. Jaundiced and emaciated, he never the less downed at least six Jack Daniels on the rocks during the hour and a half I was there - definitely a candidate for '05, if he holds out that long.

Perchance our brethren from the UK might like to read a few books? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-h...6893378-1551216 Seriously, Vonnegut is great stuff with a particularly peculiar point of view.

The Olsen Twins & Christina Ricci

Yikes, and they've just become legal, as well! The two of them combined can't weigh more than a stone. "Politicians are living proof that horse's arses greatly outnumber horses." -
I know funny, and that's funny!

1. Nancy Reagan (Spouses often follow soon after, and I can dream, can't I.) 2. Billy and Hillary Clinton, at the same time, preferably at the hand of G.W. Bush so he'd end up somebody's buddy in the federal hoosgow, and Cheney and the rest of that mob convicted of conspiracy... (Talk about dreamin') 3. Jerry Springer 4. Spike Lee 5. Don King (Considering some of the types of people this guy has screwed over, it's amazing he's still around anyway.) Note to FBI types: This is strictly a humorous forum, no intent should be implied or construed.
