I had thought of that too, but afaik, steroids arent used for pancreatic cancer. In fact, they are a cause of pancreatic cancer,. But treatments are always evolving, and it would certainly fill out his face artificially.

His voice is very hoarse, but his face doesn't have that hollowed out look you see with advanced cancer. His weight seems to be holding up.
