Looking like Sunny Garcia might be in this for the long haul. He has been trached, which means long term management is a possibility. Report says he is breathing on his own now, but obviously just barely if he needed the trach. Could go years like this, or could succumb soon. Hard to tell. Partly depends on if he had left instructions for care were he ever to find himself in this position. https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-sports/112978848/hope-for-ill-surf-star-sunny-garcia-in-desperate-fight-for-life

ALS survival can vary widely, of course, but I wouldn't start counting points yet for Fernando. Article says oxygen, but more likely mechanical ventilation ( perhaps with supplemental O2). The fact that he has gone this long, and is only now beginning to use a ventilator, and part time at that, bodes well for perhaps many more months. When he has gone to full time ventilation with a trach, then you are getting serious. But look at Gleason, Becker and Brigance to see how long you can survive even then. Becker is still writing music.

I don't know, I found it rather flat.

According to the headlines, he has gone from "really, really bad health" in July 2018, to "very poor health" now. Sounds like he is getting better to me, but not much is actually being said.

Since my list is in, I guess this means I am out, as long as Banker gets his list in. Good luck to everyone for the remainder of the cup.

If I can survive the tie with Banker, my list for March is in.

Did Errol ever sing and dance with Nelson Mandela? I think not. -

Hmm. No oxygen lines, damn good sign for someone recovering from pneumonia and cardiac issues. No swelling in the hands either ( remember SriSri?). With the nutrition from that NG tube, he could go a long time yet. -

Sure, but could you tell us what you really think? Seriously though, I think that is one of the most apt descriptions I have seen. Well done.

Joe Schlesinger was a true Canadian icon. If there was a major news story happening somewhere in the world, Joe was there. His reporting was impeccable, honest and factual. If he said it, you could believe it. They don't make many like him anymore.

Ok, this is not really deathlist material, but maybe keep an eye on players from the Indiana Pacers. Seems they are contracting their medical services to the local boy scout troupe. This is some pretty sophisticated medical investigation here. https://www.hoop-ball.com/nba-fantasy-news-and-advice/fantasy-nba-player-news/update-myles-turner-diagnosed-with-sore-left-knee-available-to-return/ -
It's not like they would ever actually say anything else, regardless of the circumstances, while he is still in office.

Surviving the first month is a bit tricky, but his odds of living are still very good. After that, he should be golden for 10 more years at least ( or at least the same as any coke-sniffing 70 year old rocker who hasn't had open heart surgery).

Sorry for the snarky reply. I have to remember that this is a British-centric forum, and 'famous' people from other countries have a bit of a higher bar to hurdle to QO. It's just a consideration I need to remember with my choices. My bad.
