There's a bit of an enema (to borrow one of Gooseberry's turns of phrase) sweeping the opera world at the moment - Edita Gruberova. Maria Ewing, Jennifer Toye and Josephine Veasey all gone in the last couple of months, the first two at just 72 If you want to know 20 old opera singers who won't die, I can refer you to my opera theme team....

Football Manager Sacking Bingo 2
Great Uncle Bulgaria replied to Miracle Aligner's topic in Dead Pools
Of my remaining 5, all of them are involved in promotion pushes and are not going to be sacked. Warne has done an amazing job IMO, about to get promoted from L1 ( a league which includes Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich, Portsmouth, etc) for the 3rd time in 5 years with a club that probaly belongs by size at the wrong end of L1 or in L2. Mowbray has probably exceeded expectations (including mine) at Blackburn although with Brereton Diaz injured in recent weeks it's looking more like the playoffs than automatic promotion. Doswell, Bloor and Heyrettin are all doing reasonably well in NLS and wont be going anywhere before the end of the season. Doswell has turned down approaches from elsewhere and has a local business that is now doing well so unlikely he will be leaving the area. -

Hasenhuttl is Austrian, not German. -
Seemingly Aveda Kedavra would have been a more appropriate name...

Political Discussions And Ranting Thread

Time for a lib/lab pact. They've been fighting each other on the same ground and letting the tories in for too long.. Sitting MPs to be unopposed by the other lot. Whoever came 2nd to a Tory last time gets the nod - no exceptions. Another 'moral victory' like 2017 when labour made reasonable gains but still lost does no one any good. -
I wuold be surprised too! Napolitano will be 97 this June and he had a couple of strokes after he left the presidency. I am really impressed that he is sill alive... No doubt true, but Berlusconi is internationally famous, Napolitano isn't.

Will be for my team. 3 of them (Blackburn, Rotherham and Maidstone) are chasing automatic promotion and all 3 are outperforming expectations as it stands, such that failure to go up would not bring the sack. Eastbourne and H & W have drifted from playoff places into mid table but both are still close enough to get back in the playoffs with a decent run. RAO is surely the favourite. Neither will be sacked, but can see both Bielsa and Dyche walking at the end of the season, both have performed miracles with poor squads but have taken their clubs as far as they can. Burnley will surely drop this year. -

Is she really famous in the US? Looking at Wikipedia, most of her albums struggled to scrape into the top 100 (or even 200). She's had no success at all in the UK afaik, although her little sister (Crystal Gayle) had some hit singles going back 40 years or so. Doesn't appear to be any news that would justify her being on the list, let alone so high.

Rosie Jones. She may be a lovely woman and I know we are supposed to be be supportive of the disabled, but...she's not funny and on the rare occasions that she does try to say something amusing by the time she's succeeded in saying it we have all got the joke several seconds previously.

Well done CC and thanks YW for running. V happy with an uncharacteristically high 3rd quartile finish (albeit bottom thereof) -

I (and I would guess most UK-based people) would disagree with that and I have no interest in rugby, though I would concede that most non Uk or US people probably haven't heard of either of them.
