Christ, it's time for 2025 submissions already??

IMHO, one thing that I think is a big question mark over the election (and something we can concretely say afterwards exists/does not) is any "reverse coattail" effect. Gallego in Arizona, Rosen in Nevada, and Stein in North Carolina are all polling double digits clear of their R opponents, and in a swing state, that can be enough to drag top of the ticket across the line. Hence why it's much less obvious in states where it's less one-sided (i.e. Maine 2020 w/ Collins, Vermont 2020 w/ Scott, and Montana/Ohio this year). AZ/NV/NC could get some good numbers for KH just off the virtue of stronger downballot candidates. Even (to an extent) Casey in PA, Baldwin in WI, Slotkin in MI, Kaine in VA... At least we don't have to think about Florida this time.

Got bored. Made another Deadpool. Here are the rules: 1. You choose one person over 70. 2. They will be put in a tournament system, with brackets of 2. 3. If your pick dies before your opponent’s, you win and advance to the next round. 4. They must have an obituary from any site used by the Derby Dead Pool. 5. No FFBI picks, and no terminally ill picks. (a. la. Leah Bracknell) 6. We must know the year of birth and their Wikipedia page must have over 500 words. 7. Game starts on March 1st. 8. You will need a new pick for every round. I will be taking Chuck Schumer.

Both Andrew George and Ben Maguire (LibDems) chose to also get sworn in in Cornish. George used to do it, I remember, but is this the first time 2 have? Can't remember any others. Lovely to hear it, mind. -

Isn't Wiley Nickel (Rep who would've been dead in '24 if he even bothered to run) running? Another strong candidate - outperformed top of the ticket by a few points in '22.

Minus points to Shapiro, however, for only being Governor for two years. In my eyes, I agree with your moderate white man theory, but think they might look for someone a bit older (though not quite Biden old): Roy Cooper, Tim Walz, and even Tom Vilsack could do it for her, carrying Southern (Cooper) or Midwestern (Walz/Vilsack) appeal.

For what it's worth, the conversation has VERY much changed from "if, and that's a big if, Biden drops out, who's the candidate" to "who is Kamala's VP". (answer: name a politician who isn't Biden or Harris themselves, sure)

Simple: just vote for one. Delegates being "pledged" is about as certain as electors. DNC rules say that any delegate can vote for a different candidate. Back in Iowa 2020, 6 delegates were pledged to Biden, but as he became the clear nominee, that changed to (at least) 14.

Ron Paul speaking (6:44:12) at the Libertarian National Convention. He sounds really quite well, honestly - and for Ron Paul, looks it. Very ambulatory and articulate, and shouldn't be bothering us for a while.

I can safely say that was one of my favourite episodes to air in a long time. Definitely better than most of the stuff they lumbered Jodie with (mind, Jodie was brill at what they gave her) and better than everything else thus far in RTD2.
