    General Non School Massacre Thread

I was suprised to find that Finnish murderer/killer Tauno Pasanen (born 1934, 86 years old) is still alive: https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tauno_Pasanen Pasanen in 1969, while drunk, forced his wife and children to leave his house. The neighbour of Pasanen called the police and the police came heavily armed as Pasanen was known as a very agressive man. Pasanen gave no mercy and killed all the four policemen. There is also a movie about this: https://imdb.com/title/tt0137863/ Pasanen tried to get free by sending multiple letters to president Kekkonen. Finally the next president, Mauno Koivisto granted amnesty to Pasanen in 1982. Pasanen and his wife divorced in 1992. Well, in 1996 Pasanen and his wife were back together (possibly only as friends, though) and were binge drinking. Probably not the best idea to do that with your abusive former husband who once shot four cops under the effects of alcohol. This ended in Pasanen strangling his wife to death. He got free in 2000 after only four years. Someone tried to ask him for an interview last year, he declined the offer saying that his children don't want him talking about what he has done.

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2021

Criminals? Francis Clifford Smith (b. 1924), serving a life sentence for 70 years. Longest time in prison ever if he lives around half a year. Probably not famous enough though but he's in some kind of a nursing home now. Iwao Hakamada (b. 1936) Spent 46 years on death row. Suffers from mental problems and diabetes and doesn't look healthy. Ayman Al-Zawahiri (b. 1950) Leader of al-Quaeda, but turning 70. Probably won't die a natural death though.

    Minimalists (and other classical composers/musicians)

Theodorakis is and Glezos was a repicient of the Lenin Peace Prize. There are only four people alive who were awarded the prize after Glezos's death (yes, it ended with the Soviet Union in 1991): Mikis Theodorakis (b. 1925) Greek composer and lyricist, Sam Nujoma (b. 1929) Namibian president and revolutionary Martti Ahtisaari (b. 1937) Finnish president and nobel peace prize winner. Survived COVID this year. Angela Davis (b. 1944) American political activist

Foreign Personalities, From Stage, Screen, Politics And Life

Sven Wollter dead at 86 from COVID. Decided to put this on this thread instead of the covid casualties as he was a very known actor and one of the four alive main actors in the Beck movie Man on the Roof (1976) known to very many in the nordic countries. Haven't watched it myself but I've seen other later Martin Beck movies. He was Lennart Kollberg. Now there are three: Thomas Hellberg (b. 1941) as Gunvald Ingvar Hirdwall (b. 1934) as the Man on the Roof. Harald Hamrell (b. 1960) as Stig Nyman's son

What's probably already crushing them is everyone from their generation dying off from around them. Elizabeth quoted Vera Lynn when the coronavirus started spreading, probably in some way also attempting to show that there are still other notable people alive from the greatest generation. But Vera Lynn died a few months after that and it's just a fact that her and Phil's time to go is just getting closer and closer. Also Anne and Charles (+ Camilla) are in their 70s now. I'm again repeating this but I don't think these four others will live longer than duke gaffem

106 today. Oldest living hollywood golden age actor, last main cast member of Saboteur (1942), Spellbound (1945) after the death of Rhonda Fleming last month, A Walk in the Sun (1945), M (1951) and He Ran All the Way (1951). Probably the last in many other things, too. Still working and we'll hopefully see new pictures of him. Remembers the Great Depression, career spanning nine or ten decades in theatre, radio, film and television.

    World War II Veterans

Economist Kimmo Kara died last month aged 101. Finnish wikipedia page: https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimmo_Kara https://www.hs.fi/muistot/art-2000007021104.html Probably one of the last people (if not the last one) who was in Marshal of Finland CGE Mannerheim's headquarters during WWII and who knew Mannerheim. Not a combat veteran in any way, but was involved in de-coding messages during the war.

    Curse Of The Eurovision

Suprised. I would've thought Vesa-Matti Loiri or Pave Maijanen would've gone first, Loiri being a longtime alcohol user, smoker and a former drug addict (now 75) and Maijanen being 70 with an advanced ALS. Two I recommend for eurovision-themed lists.
