People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive
arghton replied to Catherine's topic in DeathList Forum
The way I tried that post to sound non-serious was by this clumsy joke as usually nowadays people born before 1920 who haven't been heard of in a few years or decades, aren't and never have been famous are quite often already rotting in their graves -

(According to google) Abba Jofir, Mussolini's good friend is still alive and well at 120. I wonder what's his secret to living so long, maybe disappearing from the public for a pretty long time -

The only other parent of a person on the deathlist at the moment is Shane McGowan's father. Maurice McGowan is probably over 90 already, or atleast near it -

Reminds me of when Finnish minister and public servant Raimo Sailas died at age 74 this year and turned out his mother was/is still alive and over 100. I can't even imagine what it's like to outlive your own child -
Dilip Kumar should be on the list if he survives the next two months. Nobel prize winner, Finnish president Martti Ahtisaari is someone I'm keeping an eye on. 83, obese, has had health problems for around 25 years, he and his wife had the coronavirus a few months ago and doesn't appear in public often nowadays.

I've only got the dads. The Spielberg dad and the Gates dad. It's been a bit over a month since I started this so I'll end up with around 46 at the start of 2022, I guess. I'll probably keep crossing names on this list until I die but I doubt there will be fifty left by then.

God damn it, not the best time to die, Ruth. Can't blame her for it though.

Like Bob Dole would say, Bob Dole isn't going anywhere soon.

Heikki A. Reenpää, longtime owner of the Finnish publisher Otava and ww2 vet, known for being Marshal of Finland Baron C.G.E. Mannerheim's car driver and a friend of wartime president of Finland Risto Ryti and for his long "colorful" life has died at age 98. https://yle.fi/uutiset/3-11551769 https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heikki_A._Reenpää

Paavo Lipponen, somewhat notable Finnish pm, possibly worked with Stasi and in a frail and weak condition. Only 79, but won't probably be here for long. Jackie Stallone, nearly 99 and god knows how many percent plastic. Gates dad was included too so I am hopefully not killed for suggesting this name. Kenneth Kaunda, would be a good next "old african leader" on the list after the passing of a couple of them. 96 but seems to be in a good condition. Who knows though. Tsar Simeon II, last tsar. Only 83 though. Maybe including one of the main young reformers of Yuri Andropov could get on the list, as they're all getting old. Mikhail Gorbachev is "only" 89, Nikolai Ryzhkov will be 91 in 10 days and Yegor Ligachyov is approaching his 100th birthday

I often enjoy dark, pure rye bread, nothing on it with dark coffee. In my opinion, coffee is at it's best if it tastes what one thinks oil would taste

I'd say you'll still get a point, because there is a wikipedia that explains him and his life. It's a very rare case and on the border. Thought of this same thing while making my own list. I was going to add "doge" Kabosu but didn't, as the wikipedia article explains the life of Kabosu but isn't 100% about the dog. Some things may be tricky because of the amount of names, but we'll sure going to see a lot of deaths on these lists soon. I've only gotten one hit. Two not very known terrorists have died "off radar" and only mentioned on the wikipedia pages after I made the list, so I've replaced them.
