Terrorists & Topical Terrorist Targets
arghton replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
Issa's death was confirmed by the White House National Security Advisor and I don't think there was ever a denial from Hamas. Deif's death has been denied and he is allegedly still giving orders according to inside sources (although "giving orders" might just mean they haven't stopped using his signature on documents as an attempt to claim he is still alive). There is video material, but it simply shows the explosion. The story about Deif and his top lieutenant going out of the bunker to breathe fresh air seems a bit questionable to me. Alive or not, the three others are still major targets. Talal Hamiyah is living on overtime and will be a target of Israel/Mossad even if he survives past the end of this current war. Mohammad Sinwar is being actively searched for according to an IDF spokesperson, life expectancy something between a few hours and a few weeks. Mashal is said to be the de facto leader currently, but getting him seems a bit more difficult as he's said to be in Turkey or Qatar at the moment. There are still definitely enough names to make a team for next year. -
Terrorists & Topical Terrorist Targets

Good riddance, Yahya Sinwar was an extreme cunt even on Hamas/Hezbollah standards. Who are Israel's main targets now? I'd say: 1) Mohammed Deif: Major target for the last 30 years, longtime leader of Hamas' military wing. Has survived enormous amounts of assasination attempts, partially wheelchairbound and is called "cat with nine lives". Let's be honest, he's alive. 2) Talal Hamiyah: Arguably the largest Hezbollah target, and the final survivor of the old guard militant commanders of Hezbollah. He leads Unit 910 or Islamic Jihad Organization that has launched attacks on the West, including the AMIA bombing in Argentina that killed 85. He is called "Hezbollah's Ghost", Israel attempted to kill him most recently late last month. 3) Mohammed Sinwar: Yahya's younger brother and potential successor. Said to be one of the main minds behind the 7th of October attacks. 4) Ziyad Al-Nakhalah: Palestinian Islamic Jihad Secretary-General. Rumored to have been the main target in a recent attack on Syria Other potential successors to Sinwar are Khaled Mashal, Khalil al-Hayya and Mousa Abu Marzook, but currently (to me atleast) they do not seem as large targets as the people above. -

All over the news here for the last two days. I've seen a few of his interviews on TV in the past years, he seemed like a very nice and kind young man. Very sad.

Afrika Bambaataa is 67. I have no idea about what's mainstream or not here, but he seems somewhat big. A few weeks older than Wonder Mike. He also seems to have the health history of a 107-year-old Indian politician. "First MC in hip-hop" Coke La Rock is 69, but is the only of these five I've never heard of before, honestly.

Kaiti Grey back in critical condition after a second stroke.

Indian political giant Uddhav Thackeray of right-wing populist and Hindunationalist party Shiv Sena hospitalised for "check-up that includes angioplasty". He's only 64 and "doing well", but this is his third or fourth angioplasty, he suffers from other ailments and met the God of Death (Sharad Pawar) a few days ago.

Lots of rumors going around in the last few hours. Some are about an opposition politician apparently saying that Biya has died. There's also been prayer ceremonies for Biya's health today, and already on Thursday the government released a statement that included a part where they ask people to pray for him. Keep an eye on his constitutional successor Marcel Niat Njifenji too, he's been ill for a much longer time and has been in hospital for most of the last year.

Andrew Salmond and Nasrallah have both been profile pictures here for atleast one user, right? Atleast that's what I remember. Got me thinking... @Andrew Clements surely one? Joined 6 July 2019, Andrew Clements died 28 Nov 2019 aged 70. @Baron Samedi bit of a stretch but joined 2009, Geoffrey Holder died Oct 2014 aged 84. @Bert Trautmann, joined Oct 2010, Bert Trautmann died July 2013 at 89. Edit: Didn't see the last one's mention.

I hereby declare that it is my God-given right to announce the death of Jimmy Carter, and anyone who atrociously bypasses me is an evil, cruel, all-around daft cunt. -
Nihon Hidankyo that won the Nobel Peace Prize this year has 4 key figures, all of who are Hibakushas (survivors of the atomic bombings) and now have a much larger chance of obitting: Terumi Tanaka (92) Longtime activist who survived Nagasaki 3.2 kilometres from the hypocenter. He retired as Secretary-General of the organization in 2017, but still serves as one of the co-chairs. Relatively frail. Sueichi Kido (84) Current secretary-general of the organization, didn't attend in person but sent a video message. Toshiyuki Mimaki (83) Co-chair who talked at the press conference. Shigemitsu Tanaka (83) Smallest name, co-chair. There are very few somewhat notable Hibakushas living. I'd mention longtime activist Setsuko Thurlow (92), baseball player Isao Harimoto (84), singer/actor Akihiro Miwa (89) all of who have been quite ill in the past or are now, and especially Shigeaki Mori (87) who met Obama in 2016. Along with Mori there was Sunao Tsuboi who got a BBC obituary, and Mori looked horribly frail here (2.56 onwards).

Finland's by far most notable auctioneer, "auction emperor" Aki Palsanmäki has been diagnosed with lung cancer and will undergo emergency surgery today. I visited his auction house in Hirvaskangas six or seven years ago. It was raining and there were probably around two hundred people there, I was standing in the rain trying to get a glimpse of the guy. Not the best way to spend a holiday, but all the best to him.
