Both Klenberg's successor and predecessor as the Chief of Defence of the Finnish Defence Forces are interesting people. Jaakko Valtanen, ww2 vet (1925-2024) is still in a pretty good shape at 94 and is pretty known here. Valtanen is known for sending Finnish UN peacekeepers into the middle east and opposing the 60s hippie movement. Gustav Hägglund (born 1937) was a commander of UNIFIL, was involved in the arab-israeli conflict of 1978 and known for his hate towards overweight women, investing in a pyramid scheme in 2008 and hunting animals in Africa.
