    Wrestlers/actors

I think this might actually be his time. Most recent facebook post (from two hours ago) asks for "urgent prayers" as doctors want to remove him from life support, but family is refusing...

    Political Frailty

Latest turn is that early this week some paper said that Oommen Chandy is "very critical". However, family said that it's fake news and the family lawyer has sent a defamation notice to that reporter. I think this is the end or atleast the start of the end. He's been undergoing immunotherapy for months and a serious bout of pneumonia doesn't go well with throat cancer that's likely terminal. They've not released any pictures of him anytime recently unlike during his previous hospitalisations.

    Death Anniversary Thread

Grumpy Cat (Tardar sauce), THE internet celebrity cat, died on this day four years ago at 7 from UTI/kidney infection complications. That's her with Stan Lee in 2015. Grumpy Cat's grumpy appearance was caused by an underbite and feline dwarfism and these or related conditions likely lead to her early demise - house cats seem to live on average around 13-18 years.

    Hospitalised!

Bangladesh politician A. S. M. Abdur Rab who with Serajul Alam Khan (1941-2023), Shajahan Siraj (1943-2020) and M. A. Jalil (1942-1989) founded Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, hospitalised and very ill with major heart problems. Serajul Alam Khan has also been ill for a long time (heart surgeries, heart attacks, broken hip) and has actually been hospitalised this month too.

    The 100 Club

Fletcher who is in my opinion the least boring out of the three, is wheelchairbound (with a blanket covering her legs) and has been for years but doing relatively okay for 109 and I recall she just recently travelled to Africa, not something many people near 110 can do. With her 102-year-old brother - amazing genes. Renfrow Smith has been decrepit for years but was atleast last year in physically better condition than Fletcher. Mackey's the frailest one and looked very close to death in January. Was thinking how many "notables" born 1916 or before there are left...(not including the four Indian fraudsters and that Bangladeshi fraudster cleric) Here's everyone I currently remember, might've missed some. Some new names included. 1911: Marita Camacho Quirós (10 Mar 1911) Costa Rica First Lady 1962-1966 1912*: Shi Ping (1 Nov 1912) Chinese Shanghai local politician. Luís Torras Martinez (29 Dec 1912) Spanish Galician painter and Spanish Civil War vet. 1913: Kewal Krishan (27 Jul or 4 Aug 1913 - 1 Apr 2023 off-radar) Indian. Arguably notable in any way but was a "member of the drafting committee of the Constituent Assembly of India". Considered India's likely oldest man. Mateo Balbuena Iglesias (21 Sep 1913) Spanish, veteran of the Spanish Civil War. Has written a few books and is a local communist politician/thinker. Zhang Lixiong (21 Nov 1913 - 2 Apr 2024) Chinese PLA founding Major General. 1914: Anita Mackey (1 Jan 1914) US social worker Morrie Markoff (11 Jan 1914) US, "world's oldest blogger" never mentioned here before. Tongue cancer survivor. Kazimierz Klimczak (15 Feb 1914 - 14 Jul 2023) Polish military figure. War invalid for over 80 years. Viola Fletcher (5 May 1914) US Tulsa race massacre survivor, activist Anne Baker (14 May 1914) British writer, biographer, fundraiser, MBE. Colette Maze (16 Jun 1914 - 19 November 2023) French pianist. Muazzez İlmiye Çığ (20 Jun 1914) Turkish archaeologist. Edith Renfrow Smith (14 Jul 1914) US college alumni Norman Spencer (20 Aug 1914) British film producer, screenwriter, production manager James C. Floyd (20 Oct 1914) British-Canadian aeronautical engineer. I find it amazing this guy is still alive considering how he is quite an unique centenarian and hasn't been seen in years. Eileen Kramer (8 Nov 1914) Australian dancer, choreographer, artist Ye Ming (29 Dec 1914) Chinese WWII anesthesist. Not really notable but including him as he's been mentioned here a few times and got media attention for surviving covid. 1915: Ma Shitu (14 Jan 1915 - 28 Mar 2024) Chinese author with a long health history. Min Jingde (ca. 20-29? Jan 1915) Chinese military officer. Yu Te-Hsin (17 Mar 1915) Taiwan. Again arguable if he's notable- oldest person to paraglide tandem validated by Guinness World Records Valdemar Prukner (2 May 1915 - April 2023) Croatian-German. Arguably notable - World's oldest violinist, or one of the oldest violinists. Constantin Nastase (3 Jun 1915 - 31 October 2023) Romanian Major General, promoted from Brig. Gen in 2022. Jupira Brasil (16 Aug 1915 - December 2022) Brazilian singer, dancer, actress, producer. Already bedbound in 2021. Wu Jiucheng (5 Sep 1915) Chinese Long March veteran who got media attention for attending a flag raising in 2022. Isabel Crook (15 Dec 1915 - 20 August 2023) Chinese-born Canadian anthropologist. Was very ill a few years ago but recovered. James Clayton Flowers (25 Dec 1915) Tuskegee airman. Very ill for years apparently. Yan Renmei (x x 1915 - 2014 OTR) ROC socialite. Turns out she's been dead, but Chinese press claimed she was still alive. 1916: Milton Thiago de Mello (5 Feb 1916) Brazilian primatologist. Has been marked dead on wikipedia atleast twice, but still alive. Friedrich Grade (29 Mar 1916 - 13 October 2023) German, chief engineer of U-96 during wwii, last surviving eyewitness of U-96 patrols Genevieve Callerot (6 May 1916) French novelist and farmer. Eunice Parsons (4 Aug 1916) US modern artist Samuel Chuquimia Murillo (15 Aug 1916) Last of Bolivia's Chaco War Veterans, including him as he's received a lot of local press attention... Described as "very tired" in early 2022. Käthe Menzel-Jordan (7 Sep 1916) German architect. Frank Handlen (26 Sep 1916 - 25 May 2023) American painter. Maeda Mitsuhiro (29 Sep 1916) Japanese-Chinese soldier and activist. Ruth Johnson Colvin (19 Dec 1916) US, ProLiteracy founder and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient *Djara Mickaharic who's been mentioned here multiple times in the past probably never even existed. There's a very limited amount of pictures of him online and while he's said to have been alive past 100, I think behind "Djara Mickaharic" is a much younger author or group of authors.

    Dying Off The Radar

From Ideas & Possibilities 2021: Sister Paula Nielsen seems to have died in June 2022 according to facebook posts, and her death was atleast according to Deathlist Forums' search function never mentioned here. Link. DDP pick atleast in 2021. Lots of "how still alive" names in those three posts, many of who were already perennially ill in 2020. Atleast Hissing Sid, Winnie Ewing, Katherine Jackson and Russ Tamblyn.

    Hospitalised!

HD Kumaraswamy flown to Singapore "for checkups" Lyudmila Porgina's (Russian actress and widow of actor, pool pick Nikolai Karachentsov) in hospital with a "head injury" according to Russian media and not her first hospitalisation in the last 6 months. Indian Mollywood actor Harish Pengan hospitalised and critical with liver failure.

    Dying Off The Radar

US Masters Swimming record holder, WWII B-25 pilot Russ Witte, still marked living on Wikipedia (minor name, but he's had a Wiki page since 2013), died off-radar in 2016 at 99. There's a small group of people born in the 1910s still marked "living" on Wikipedia despite the fact that they probably died more than a decade ago. The most notable of those are probably Wesley P. Dahlberg, Steve Lu and Jiro Tanaka. Steve Lu has two home pages, the other page with contact info of him or a relative/someone who knew him, but I can't find any pictures of him taken after the 1990s. Jiro Tanaka was probably alive in 2008.

    Vladimir Putin

Putin at the "victory day parade": There was something somewhere about the two men next to him who were originally simply called "WWII veterans". There's NKVD agent and sniper Yuri Dvoikin, 98 who supressed anti-Soviet underground in Ukraine during WWII (and did whatever else NKVD agents did in the 1940s) The other is Major General Gennady Zaitsev, 88, commander of the 7th directorate of the KGB during the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia and later commander of KGB's Alpha Group twice.

    Rumours

Bola Tinubu, now the President Elect of Nigeria is again widely rumored to be ill as he's had multiple mystery visits to France this year, just returned from there two weeks ago and is now allegedly going back. He didn't look "ill" last month but worth keeping an eye on

    Who are the immortals?

My 2021 list suggestion, Vietnamese politician, former central committee member and one of the fathers of Vietnam's postal services Đặng Văn Thân got the Communist Party 70th membership award today. He's said to be "in declining health" (only a corner of his hospital bed is visible in the images) but "still expressed his joy and honor" Adamkienė "stable but critical/complicated"

Foreign Personalities, From Stage, Screen, Politics And Life

Jorma Uotinen discharged and has fully recovered. Siiri Rantanen who died last week had for a while been of the four last "iron ladies" of Finland's so-called greatest generation. These four have still attended events, appeared on tv and been in the news until recent years, all after turning 95. The other three: Satu Tiivola (98) Traiblazing restauranteur, entrepreneur and Kauppaneuvos. Oldest of the four. Suffered a stroke at 93 in 2017 but fully recovered. In the early half of 2020 she had rough covid that required weeks in hospital and not long after broke her back and was hospitalised another two weeks. Again recovered quite well, but hasn't made any appearances since 2021 and possibly suffers from dementia as her memory never returned to the same level after that fall. Jutta Zilliacus (97) Finnish-born, ethnic Estonian journalist, author and Swedish People's Party Member of Parliament 1975-1986. Mostly in good health, frequently interviewed and posts on facebook nearly every day. Aira Samulin (96) Dance teacher, entrepreneur and arrogant arsehole. Youngest and toughest of the group. Cervical cancer in her 40s, suffered a "severe stroke" in 2018 at 91 but fully recovered. Ill with severe flu or pneumonia last year but again completely recovered and again attending events quite frequently. Usually always in the first row in the audience of Finland's version of Strictly Come Dancing.

And now according to the latest facebook message he's having a heart infection and wife says "the doctors are continuing to try and prepare me for the worst". Sounds like either he's going to die in a few days/weeks or live another year or two after GoFundMe and God heal his organs.

    Juan Carlos I of Spain

Didn't attend the coronation and it's said that last month a publicly announced lunch that he was going to have with Charles was quietly cancelled "last minute". Other royals who didn't attend the coronation include Norway's Harald (ill health), Denmark's Margrethe (ill health & recovering from surgery), Saudi Arabia's Salman (advanced dementia & other ill health), Kuwait's Nawaf (ill health - frequent hospitalisations abroad, rumored terminal stomach cancer) and Morocco's Mohammed VI (could be just protocol but known to have suffered from severe heart problems in the past and also rumored to suffer from cancer) Actually I think the only non-UK octogenarian royals there were Beatrix, old Tsar Simeon and Kuwait's Crown Prince, all looked good for their ages.

    Military commanders

Khoi was a Brig. Gen. I'd assume there are some other Generals living. Checking... Ministers/govt: Nguyễn Tiến Hưng (1935) Minister of Economic Development and Planning 1973-1975 Trần Ngọc Ninh (1923) Minister of Education 1966-1967. Alive? Trương Văn Thuấn (1936) Communications and Transport Minister 1966-1967. Nguyễn Hữu Hanh (1923) Bank governor, should be dead. Returned to Vietnam in 2003 to live the rest of his life there. Not to be confused with another guy with a very similar name who was born 1924 and died in 2019. Hoàng Đức Nhã (1942) Minister of Public Affairs and Cheiu Hoi 1973-1975. Nguyen Van Thieu's Press Secretary. Nguyễn Văn Hảo (1942) Apparently a former Deputy Prime Minister. Said to be alive in Vietnam. Military (mostly minor names mentioned on the vietnamese wikipedia as they have Wiki pages for seemingly all SV Generals - some of the Maj/ Lt. Gens likely dead): Lt. Cen Phạm Quốc Thuần (1926-2023) Said to live or have lived in Oregon. Lt. Gen Nguyễn Bảo Trị (1929-2024) Was still attending events a few years ago. Lt. Gen Trần Văn Trung (1926) Was said to be "lying in critical condition in a Paris hospital" in 2012, I doubt he's still alive. Lt. Gen Nguyễn Vĩnh Nghi (1932) Possibly dead? Lt. Gen Mai Hữu Xuân (1916/1917-1988) Involved in the 1963 and 1964 coups. Very much dead (Trần Thiện Khiêm was the last living of those who had a major role in the coups) but nobody seems to know when, all is known he died in the US. Maj. Gen Nguyễn Chấn (1931-2022?) Said to have died in Toronto last year. Maj. Gen Bùi Hữu Nhơn (1928-2022) A Major General with the same name died in the US last year, and I doubt there are many Maj. Gens in the us named Bùi Hữu Nhơn. Maj. Gen Đào Duy Ân (1932) Maj. Gen Lê Ngọc Triển (1927-2019) Online obituaries can be found Maj. Gen Nguyễn Duy Hinh (1929) Maj. Gen Phan Đình Niệm (1931) Maj. Gen Nguyễn Khắc Bình (1931) Most recent news from a few years ago. Police chief for four years before the fall of Saigon. Should be very much alive as youtube has 2022 interviews of him. Brig. Gen Chương Dzềnh Quay (1928) Later lived in France...alive? Brig. Gen Nguyễn Văn Giàu (1932) Brig. Gen Huỳnh Văn Lạc (1927) Brig. Gen Phạm Hữu Nhơn (1928-2016?) Later lived in Haymarket, Virginia. Someone with the same name died in Virginia in 2016, but was marked to have been 90 years old at the time of his death. Brig. Gen Nguyễn Thành Hoàng (1924) Very likely dead. Brig. Gen Phạm Hà Thanh (1926) Director of Military Medical Department for two years before the fall of Saigon. Known to been in exile but returned to Vietnam at some point. Brig. Gen Phan Xuân Nhuận (1916-1992) Died in the US of old age, but not known when. Brig. Gen Vũ Đình Đào (1931-2020) Online obituaries say he died 2020. Brig. Gen Đặng Đình Linh (1929-2010) Online obituaries say he died 2010. Brig. Gen Nguyễn Văn Lượng (1931) Kiem Do (1933) "Deputy Chief of Staff of Operations when Saigon fell in 1975". Lives in the US. Col. Bùi Dzinh (1929-2024) Col. Nguyễn Văn Huy (1938) Said to live in the US Col. Dương Hiếu Nghĩa (1925-2019) Some sources say he died 2019. Major Nguyễn Qúy An (1943) Major Phan Nhật Nam (1943) Lt. Phạm Quang Khiêm (1946) Lt. Nguyễn Văn Cử (c. 1934-2013?) Tried to assasinate Ngô Đình Diệm. According to Vietnamese wiki died in 2013 but haven't looked into him.
