    Political Frailty

Updated for the death of Shinzo Abe. Good old Tomiichi Murayama made an appearance a bit over a week ago: He's starting to look his age but he's still sharp mentally and says that he's doing fine. Hosokawa, Fukuda and Mori all seem to be doing fine. Koizumi retired recently, not sure about him.

    Death Anniversary Thread

Dilip Kumar, Indian actor and massive coffin tease died on this day a year ago, aged 98. Kumar was one of the most successful Bollywood stars, his career spanning from 1944 to 1999. He was called the "Tradegy King", the first method actor of Bollywood. He retired after a long and successful acting career and after his health seemingly started to fail due to heart problems and a stroke in the 1990s. After retiring from acting Kumar was a member of the upper house of the Parliament of India, Rajya Sabha, for six years from 2000-2006. In 2008 he was hospitalised and spent days in intensive care for an urinary tract infection, trouble breathing and complications. This could be viewed as the "start of the end", he was plagued by severe health problems for the remaining twelve years of his life. He was again hospitalised, this time with malaria, in 2009 and was reported to be in failing health in 2010. In 2013 he suffered a silent heart attack and was in "delicate condition" after having bronchopneumonia in 2014. From 2016 to 2018 he was frequently mentioned here, hospitalised multiple times in ICU each year for a number of ailments including pneumonia, fever, swollen limbs, dehydration, kidney problems, swollen kidneys, renal failure, aspiration pneumonia, breathlessness and the three stooges syndrome. Each time he was discharged. The most of his last three years were quite calm and he wasn't hospitalised that much around 2019 and 2021, as he most of the time was kept in a mini-ICU at home with oxygen support, BiPAP, a defibrillator, tubes to feed him and other equipment needed to keep him alive. For his last years he was unable to speak, suffered from a degenerative disease for 14 years, needed frequent blood transfusions and for his last years suffered from testicular cancer. At a certain point the mini-ICU at his home wasn't enough to keep him alive, as his body had finally started giving up. His last three hospitalisations were in May and June-July 2021, he suffered from bilateral pleural effusion, but a team of doctors somehow managed to save him twice. During his last week, he was reported to be "improving" until he "suddenly" died from a cardiopulmonary arrest caused by kidney failure, pleural effusion, long-term heart problems and of course, on top of all that, metastatic testicular cancer. I chose that picture, taken around 2020 or 2021, as it is one of the only pictures taken during the last years of his life where he seems alive and happy.

    Political Frailty

Indian politician, former West Bengal CM/perennial coffin tease Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee shocked and saddened by the death of Tarun Majumdar. Probably thought he'd go first, he's bedbound and unable to talk. He's a diabetic with heart diseases, suffering from COPD for atleast 12-13 years. Also, here's a new picture of fellow Indian communist politician VS Achuthanandan from facebook: If this is from last month, as it seems to be, he doesn't even look that bad! Probably bedbound, but doesn't look like he's on the verge of death. In other words, not bad for a 98-year-old who suffered a stroke a few years ago, multiple organ failure last year and covid this year. Achuthanandan and Bhattacharjee in happier times, 12 years ago:

    ALS/MND/other degenerative diseases

Name for your lists, artist/activist Anthony Carbajal (not to be confused with Mexican former professional footballer Antonio Carbajal): He's been battling ALS for over eight years, been a part of a lot of things, documentaries etc and it's apparently progressed quite quickly recently. He said that he feels like he's "near the end" last month. Found out about him searching for updates on Augie Nieto (mentioned a few posts up) who still seems tough as hell.

    Ideas and possibilities for 2023

Some names, not mentioned in a while or not mentioned at all. Gaston Glock (Founder of Glock, that developed the Glock pistol. Rubber mallet assasination attempt in 1999, two strokes, family issues, also a Deathlisty name in my opinion) Randy Gardner (Record holder, see Randy Gardner sleep deprivation experiment) Norman Scarth (WWII vet, political candidate - not mentioned here in a while, 97 this year) David Murdock (one of the oldest billionaires, now 98, eleven years ago he said that he'll live to 125, doubt it) Joanne Herring - Suprised to find that according to the search feature she's never been mentioned here before. 93, and has had a very interesting life. And some of my less notable Finnish names for low requirement pools: Schlager singers Tauski Peltonen (alcoholic wifebeater with heart problems and sleep apnea, 60 this year which is a lot with his habits. Recently revealed that he's still drinking a lot) Jorma Kalevi (lived in Spain for most of the last decades, alcohol problems, now lung fibrosis and came back to Finland earlier this year. He's apparently outlived the life expectancy given to him by doctors by over half a year now and is starting to feel like a form of Superstar Billy Graham but has been suspiciously quiet the last few months) Artists Veli Seppä (Art forger and painter suffering from lung cancer since 2011 that has spread to the trachea and is now terminal. No idea how he's still alive.) Outi Heiskanen (suffering from late stage alzheimer's since around 2017, now 84) Juhani Palmu (Have to mention him here. Diabetes, stroke, heart problems, history of smoking and drinking, stroke, heart attack, battled three different cancers plus now battling cancer, two near-fatal house fires that have resulted in him loosing all the fingers on one of his hands, one leg and multiple toes. The second fire put him into coma, he was critical in ICU and his heart stopped beating twice during a surgery. He's 77, must be some kind of a medical miracle) Also mentioning...Classical pianist Gary Graffman:

    Deadpool Detective Work

There's a list on the Oldest Living State Leaders wikipedia page's talk page called Unproven possibilities and future additions. I'll post the "not sure if alive" names here, just in case someone wants to take a look at them and is able to find a reliable deathdate (or proof that they're alive). Emmanuel Bruny (1915) Haiti Executive Government Council member in 1957. Feliciano Avelar (1919) Member of El Salvador's Civic-Military Directory 1961-1962. Max Bolte (1920) Haiti Executive Government Council member in 1957, probably died before 2000 but the exact year isn't known. Avtar Singh (1923) Sikkim political officer 1964-1966: Possibly died 2015. Ricardo Falla Cáceres (1921 or 1929-1990?) El Salvador junta of government member 1960-1961. Spanish wiki claims he died in 1990. Jaime Florentino Mendieta Vargas (1922 or 1926-2000) Bolivia Junta member 1971. Marino Vagnetti (1924) Two-time Cpt. Regent of San Marino. This case has been mentioned here before. Ri Kun-mo (1926-2001?) Premier of North Korea 1986-1988. Very likely died in 2001. Ambrose Patrick Genda (1927-2001?) Sierra Leone Chairman of the National Reformation Council in 1967. Lived in London and likely died there in 2001. Emmanuelle Bodjolle (1928-?) Togo leader in 1963, case mentioned here before, disappeared, likely killed. Nobody knows, and I doubt his remains will be found. Michel Lévêque (1933) Head of Govt of Monaco 1997-2000. Out of the people on this list, the only one I think IS still very much alive. Unknown status "upcoming leaders". Severino Tura (1934) San Marino Cpt. Regent in 1985. Félix Mouzabakani (1934) Former "Military leader of the Republic of Congo" for a moment in August 1963, was apparently alive in 2020. Óscar Pammo Rodríguez (1934) Bolivia junta member 1981. The San Marino Cpt. Regents are annoying. Two people hold the title per half a year, that's an amount of max 40 during a decade and therefore the place has more living former Heads of State/Govt than any other country in this world, and for a lot of them you can't find nearly any info on the internet. It'd be great if San Marino's govt published a list of all the living ones once in a while.

    Life In Prison

Miguel Etchecolatz, Argentine senior police officer, torturer, convicted mass murderer dead at 93. Good riddance. Waiting for Alfredo Astiz to join him, hopefully soon In his book, Etchecolatz stated: "I never had, or thought to have, or was haunted by, any sense of blame. For having killed? I was the executor of a law made by man. I was the keeper of divine precepts. And I would do it again.

    Political Frailty

Moses Ali not dead (atleast yet), but the 83-year-old Ugandan politician, possibly former Uganda's Heaviest Man, Giant of West Nile has allegedly now retired/been withdrawn from public by family: https://theinspector.co.ug/family-withdraws-gen-moses-ali-from-public-over-ill-health/ He apparently gasps while breathing and his body can't handle sitting "through public functions for long hours" but family blame it on the chair being uncomfortable and say he's in perfect health. According to Ugandan media he was treated for an unknown ailment in Turkey last August. This video is from March, he had a sick leave from the parliament but returned in May and ended up falling in the parliament building the same day he returned The youtube link in Clorox Bleachman's post is "unavailable", probably has been deleted by YouTube, but I assume it was this video.

    Deathlist Cup 2022

Some of Satya Mohan Joshi's health stuff was probably mistranslations as a lot of the Nepali to English articles on his health were badly translated, especially and mostly the medical terms (for example, one article claimed he had a heart tumor which I fail to believe was true), but a lot of it came from hospital sources. He's been on oxygen atleast three different times in those pictures taken at the hospital. I've seen the Sri Sri Sri's thread, it was a great read. Seems like in a lot of Asian countries they do everything to keep these ancient "cultural treasures" or other notable people alive, and often the government or local government pays the hospital bills like in Satyanarayana's case. There's a picture of Weakland on facebook taken in July 2018, he has a walker in it but doesn't look that ill. The scandals, he's admitted to allowing priests guilty of sexual abuse to continue as priests without warning the cops or parishioners, there's been around 8000 cases of child abuse in his archdiocese.

    Deathlist Cup 2022

I'm not suprised by how he wasn't picked here, but how the hell is he still alive? It first felt like he was sent home to die when he was discharged after that April hospitalisation with "UTI, swollen heart, atrial fibrillation, dilated cardiomyopathy, acute kidney injury, traction fibro-bronchiectasis with pleural thickening in his respiratory tract" at 101. I'll be suprised if he's alive at the end of the year but he could live for a few months, he isn't acutely ill but those heart problems won't go away. Weakland is a weird case. I have never heard what his illness is, but as mentioned here multiple times he's been in hospice atleast since around February 2019. Satyanarayana is one of those Indian miracles, "very critical" on ventilator with severe septic shock and multiple organ failure following covid and a fall, underwent tracheotomy, got out of hospital and seemingly recovered. Correct me if I'm wrong, the most recent update on his health was in January when he thanked the AP CM for paying for his hospital bills. He was unable to sign the letter and I am not even sure if the pictures on those articles were new.
