Will submit my team on the 30th. Still out of town and away from my various lists, at the moment.

Golf: The 19th Hole
Salmon Mousse replied to harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy's topic in DeathList Forum
Problem is that, with golf, you can be "winningest" without being also most successful, due to how much weight majors carry. Mickey Wright would be considered the greater player historically, despite 6 fewer regular tour victories. This doesn't even factor in the money component. -

It was more about the need to post such information 10 days before the start of a new season -

I don't think you understood the question -

Why? Just why? -
Will try to submit any theme teams next week and then my main team the 29th or 30th (taking a trip in the interim). Think I've settled on swinging for the fences with some QO risks after my disappointing performance with an overly "safe" lineup this year.

The "if he'll get better" doesn't inspire confidence

The Next Piper At The Gates Of Heaven

High Tide had two brilliant albums. It's a shame they didn't take off like, say, Black Sabbath did. -
Do non-English billionaires/retired-company-founders tend to get QOs?.... asking for a friend

Kill or Save: UK No. 1-hits of the 70s
Salmon Mousse replied to Book's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
It's probably the only listenable song on the list, though. -
I'd be shocked people knew the name.

Not yet ready to delve too deeply into creating a list but "most shocking" and "saddest" certainly go to comedians (imho, at least). Most shocking (by far): Bob Saget Saddest: Gilbert Gottfried Both deaths came as a shock, honestly... especially considering that Artie Lange has somehow outlived both them and Norm

Was on my theme team last year. Found out about his poor health some time ago but just couldn't get enough info to justify using him anywhere else. Hate when a unique like this wriggles off the hook.

Unconfirmed rumors floating around on twitter that he's had a second heart attack. Appears to be an unfortunate hoax.

Aren't there only 3 cricketing nations?
-
I've no idea who that is. I guess, to me at least, it doesn't seem like the list knows what it wants to be. Do they want to pick internationally known names to draw attention, do they want to be predominately UK-centric, or do they want to snag cheap hits here and there with obscure names (like most of us do in our pools)?

Can you really put someone at #1 who is a complete unknown on the largest English-speaking continent, though?

Damn, Pat from Moonachie. Was an invaluable regular on the Opie & Anthony show during the XM/Sirius years. The "baby bird" stunt is a thing of legend.

How's Your 2023 Shortlist Looking?
Salmon Mousse replied to msc's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Currently tightening up my shortlist and trying to recover from this year's embarrassing performance. As a non-brit, my difficulty is still in figuring out who will and who won't get a QO. DDP, DbN, and alt are my primary focus and I'll probably skip a lot of the other games next year. The death of DSCDP continues to grind on me, though, as I'd still be killing it there. -
Still watch the show almost every night on meTV

Went with "That's all" last time in hopes my poor record at prediction in these polls would draw out Pele but, instead, it seems to have taken down two old timers I'd have never heard of had I not started deathpooling. Anyway, going to give it another shot.

Has the UK given up on golf? Still no sign of QOs for either the multiple-time member of team Great Britain or for the former major champion that just passed.
