I predict the grim reaper is going to confound sceptics and be its most powerful yet like a super strong enema in 2024 moreso than recent years equalling or even beating 2020
Commtech Sio Bibble replied to Gooseberry Crumble's topic in DeathList Forum
So far this year there have been 5 deaths that have a large significance to me (Glynis Johns, Carl Weathers, Michael Jayston, Steve Wright and Navalny), but because of the way they've happened it feels like a very dry year, a big spurt at the start of January and then nothing for the rest of the month and a big spurt at the start of February and then a couple of other deaths but nothing consistent. The main thing that I feel is missing are those C tier deaths (recognisable supporting actors, non-governing politicians or forgotten musicians) which usually occur every few days. -
I wouldn't read too much into any absences, there was a similar image last year with different Dames, I think Collins was in that one and so was Eileen Atkins and Shelia Hancock, so I'd guess it's just who's available at the time.

I don't know everything about his situation, but I know he certainly won't be missed by most. Over the past few years he had faced credible sexual and physical assault allegations, was potentially a paedophile and I he made unsavoury comments about Brianna Ghey. *edit also just seen on twitter he potentially had plans to drive his truck into crowded areas and try to kill people.

Interview from December, seems and sounds surprisingly well all things considered.

Political Discussions And Ranting Thread

Is anyone else sick of the BBC reporting on antisemitism within the Labour Party, it clearly isn't a widespread issue anymore (tbh I don't think it ever was, at least to the extent reported) and yet they are consistently bringing it up. They don't provide the same level of scrutiny towards racism in the Conservative Party, which is a lot more significant and widespread. -

You can hardly be playing along when your 'CRUEL hoax' comment is what spawned the sarcasm.

The rumour isn't funny (I couldn't care less) but your reaction certainly is.

I saw the cover for Empire magazine's upcoming special issue to celebrate 25 years of the Star Wars prequels and I recognised a certain someone, so I thought I'd join in the celebrations and give myself a bit of a refresh. -

With this and Charles' recent news, is there anyone else who may or may not have killed their wife that we should be looking at. -
At least it's driven attention away from the thread of a certain another former US President.

I've given up caring, thinking about politics (domestic and foreign) makes me angry, so I have simply stopped listening.

The horse that led the Queen's funeral procession is dead, it probably found out about Charles' diagnosis and had a heart attack thinking about the amount of work it was going to have to put in for the second time in 2 years.

How about Operation Alma's Bridge?

I fear that this thread may now go down the same road as Jimmy Carter's, MyMango is already dealing out negative reactions like they're going out of fashion.

British Science Fiction Series
Commtech Sio Bibble replied to Tuber Mirum's topic in DeathList Forum
Following the death of Michael Jayston the list of classic Doctor Who serials with no surviving guest actors is up to 6. With those being An Unearthly Child, Planet of the Giants, The Rescue, The Power of the Daleks, The Deadly Assassin and The Ultimate Foe. (You could technically include the Edge of Destruction but it had no guest cast to begin with so I don't think it counts). An Unearthly Child & Planet of Giants have 2 regulars - Russell and Ford The Rescue is just Russell and O'Brien Power and Assassin both just have 1 surviving cast member being Anneke Wills and Tom Baker respectivly and now The Ultimate Foe has Colin Baker and Bonnie Langford. -

RIP Michael Jayston, great performance as the Valeyard in the underrated Trial of a Timelord series of Doctor Who, 'He Jests at Scars...' is one of my favourite DW Big Finish Audios. -
I noticed that John Hamill's bio says that his last appearance was in 1898 (49 years before he was born) when it should be 1989, if you are going off IMDb.
