The word originates from your side of the pond specifically Warren G. Harding's 1920 Presidential campaign, it did exist before but only as a obscure mathematical term. It is theorised that his presidential slogan was actually meant to be 'Return to normality' but when saying it Harding misspoke and consequently the word normalcy entered the public consciousness.

I'd be willing to bet West goes first and then a few months later she follows.

I don't care about football but I was watching him on old Corrie episodes just yesterday for Betty and Billy's wedding. RIP.

People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive
Commtech Sio Bibble replied to Catherine's topic in DeathList Forum
I don't think I've ever seen such poor spelling, grammar and use of punctuation on this site, apart from maybe that of John Sulu. -
The BBC owns the rights for some of the classic episodes. I'd think that all the living classic writers would be workable and may even just let the BBC stream those episodes for free. The main problem areas will most likely come from episodes whose writers are now long dead and therefore the idea of distribution will never have been discussed with family/estate holders, but even then I doubt that William Emms' kids are fighting with the BBC for the rights to Galaxy 4. Stef Coburn is just an arse, look through his twitter and all you'll find are rants about the typical right-wing conspiracy rubbish so it's no wonder that he doesn't get on with the 'woke' BBC.
-
I doubt that was an offer sent to all, Coburn is notoriously a twat about his father's minor contribution.

I'm surprised no-one has made a 'Jurassic Cark' joke yet.

It was last time, we had two unlucky people (definitely wasn't me) who's picks died off the radar. Even if they're not needed, I like being able to see them makes it more interesting to see who was almost picked (especially if they die).

Martti Ahtisaari is a hit for me. I'll make Norman Tebbit my new 3rd sub. (I think I'm doing this right)

Malcolm well enough to make an appearance for Barbara Knox's 90th celebration. Looks to bit thinner than the last time he was on screen and is using a stick to walk. But apart from that he actually seems to be pretty good health, which was noted by Barbara herself. The special had the scenes with Thelma Barlow at the flower show from earlier in the year, also definitely still in good health to the extent where she made note of the fact that she's still able to walk without assistance. -
What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Commtech Sio Bibble replied to Joey Russ's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Just finished listening to Rick Astley's new album, 'Are We There Yet?'. As a die hard Rick Astley fan (yes we exist), there was only 1 song of the 12 I didn't particularly like but I'm sure it'll grow on me by the time I go to see him in February. -
PM'd, hopefully I'll get a hit and not have one of my picks die off the radar a year before the game starts this time.

Actor Keith Jefferson (IMDb) has died from cancer aged 53, best known for minor roles in Django Unchained and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

I had never heard of Eva M-S before joining the forums, I've had heard of North by North West but I've never seen it and I doubt many younger people have, on the other hand I'd say 99% of the UK have seen Poppins at least once. As for the other names you mentioned earlier, Tippi Hedren is a name I recognise but the Birds is the only film of hers I've heard of (and again I haven't seen it), I have never heard of Ursula Andress or Kim Novak before now, despite the former apparently being the first 'Bond girl'. So at the end of the day deciding which of these people is the most 'deathlist worthy' is a pointless exercise as everyone will see them as having different levels of fame.

She's an Oscar nominated actress, Mary Poppins is a film that everyone knows and I definitely think her longevity has contributed to her fame, so she is 100000% famous enough. If you took a poll on a British high-street I doubt many would know her name but then would immediately recognise her as Mrs Banks the Suffragette in Mary Poppins.

If I had a nickel for every famous John Kennedy killed in a car at the age of 46 I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice. -
Not death related but ITV have found the missing pre-python sketch show The Complete And Utter History Of Britain starring Palin and Jones. It had reportedly been in the ITV archives for over 50 years but had gone unnoticed due to being mislabelled and is now available in full to watch on ITVX (premium).

For those people in the Ideas & Possibilities forum who were saying that she isn't famous enough, even I'm a tad confused by the BBC breaking news notification.
