I saw this posted on Twitter earlier. Don't necessarily agree with it, seems like a Ukraine talking point more than anything realistic IMO. Even the land Russians take though, they still fight for everyday.

Pressure from who exactly?

There has been a few Ukranian deaths noted on Wiki over the last week or so. Seems as though people are reporting the deaths in a more timely manner due to all the attention Ukraine is getting. Or they are dying as a result of conflict. Seems notable either way

I just go where the search function takes me!

This seems a bit like the "Most notable deaths each month" argument. It's subjective. Obviously people die everyday. At the time it was a bit odd how no one was added to the Wiki page. Been a few months since I'd seen that personally. At least so late in the day. Deep breaths everyone.

There should be a list made somewhere. Somewhat like the notable COVID-19 list Wikipedia has. Is that something you could add to the new wiki site you guys made @Ulitzer95? So far we have a Chechyna General, Ukrainian military figure, and now an athlete. The list will increase sadly, only getting more notable as we go.

It wouldn't be an invasion. They already control that area of Moldova and have for quite some time. It's a mere formality. Everyone keeps saying WW3. It isn't happening. A World War takes allies. Russia has none. China isn't going to risk World War for a country they don't even like much. China wants to, and is becoming, the new U.S style world-power. Mainly through economics. They would waste a lot of time and effort to fight now. If Russia escalates this farther they (Putin) will be alone.

Americans are more informed than you imply. This has been blasted on the news 24/7 here and everywhere I go people are talking about it. Mainly due to the sharp increase on gas prices here.

(Wiki) Jim Inhofe, U.S Republican Senator from Oklahoma, plans to retire . He still had roughly 4 years left on his term as he was just re-elected in 2020. The exact date of him leaving Congress is not clear, it will at least be by the end of the Congressional year (Jan. 2023). Not clear why he is retiring, but I would guess health issues are in play (either for him or his family). The fact he is 87 impacts this I'm sure. Infoe is currently the 4th oldest senator in Congress and the 28th oldest living senator.

Russia has been committing war crimes via the civilian population throughout the country. Brutal. I watched a video earlier of a Russian armored vehicle going out of its way to run over a civilian car driving on the other side of the road. Crushed. Those that stay behind, government officials that is, will be killed. No doubt. Whether today or in a few years after being put into camps. It won't change the actions of the West, they are well aware that will happen. Why do you think the Ukrainian officials are willing to take up arms? They realize time is short for them....choosing to go out as heroes.

I highly doubt this. Not sure why that take is getting so popular. There are plenty of other power hungry people in Russia, taking out Putin only creates a power vacuum within a nuclear power... The man is also getting up in age, I don't see him keeping an iron grip longer than another decade (likely less). Part of his power comes from his appearance and behavior. It is more likely he hand-picks a successor, while still making decisions behind closed doors.

Didn't take long, they have now captured it. The eastern/southern part of the country will fall within the week...likely the capital with it.

I guess my ignore list will have to grow. One recommendation for this site would be to improve how that works. You've been on this site a long time, not sure if you've always been this unhinged....Either way, goodbye
