Hello everyone! I've been posting on here around a year now, been a lurker much longer. Decided to dip my toe in making a deadpool. With @Bibliogryphon giving me permission, I am going to take his Silver Screen pool and go the opposite way. A deadpool based around TV Shows! It will be a very similar concept, in that everyone picks a TV Show instead of a movie. I will be changing the rules a bit + adding my own twist! Before I go to far into it, I wanted to gauge if this is something a decent number are interested in. The amount of people playing will impact the rules I create! If interested, please respond below or *like* this post. I'll be adding a Rules/Master List post for future updates as well. Expect the Rules to be published + entry dates on Monday, the 1st of August. Thanks!

I'd consider it. The only reason I have that rule is because you need 3 cast members to enter + 1 sub. So basically you need a minimum of 4 cast members alive to begin with. Originally I wanted 2 subs and switched to 1 before I created this game, that's where the #5 came from. Can I ask why 5 is an issue? I'm definitely open for discussion on any rule changes.

Congratulations @Toast! Not only are you the winner of this pool with 3 hits, you were also the only one that managed 2 hits! I'm not sure whether you winning says more about your skill or the lack of competition. Perhaps both . I will be updating the List of the Missed as best I can over the next few days as well as providing some commentary of this pool and how it played out. Expect a new thread for the second edition of this pool shortly. We had 27 entries for this one and I appreciate you all participating. Please feel free to let me know of any changes you think are needed before round 2!

Political Discussions And Ranting Thread
MortalCaso replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
It is an interesting time in U.S politics. I don't think Dems get a Speaker in any situation though, i.e. Jeffries. McCarthy has quite literally bent over backwards to be as conservative as possible, yet it is not good enough! They are heading for a massive loss in the House at this rate. It will be reminiscent of 2018. -
It is common for those that are dying to miraculously recover on the day of their death.

That's a political problem. She was a living breathing zombie. She didn't make her own decisions on voting or in life. She should have stepped down or been removed. I'd say the same about current Rep. George Santos and Sen. Bob Menedez.
-
Crazy timing. Right before the government shutdown, the 1st day of Biden impeachment hearings, and just over a year before elections to replace her. It also means that the Governor of California just got some extreme pressure. She should have stepped down a long time ago. Similar to RBG, her years of service is tainted by inability to give up power.

A sad hit, but a hit nonetheless. David McCallum is the first hit for @TheSpinosaurus with the show Ben 10: Ultimate Alien. It had been 2 months since the last hit in this pool. Somehow the host chose NCIS and didn't pick the aforementioned...alas the world turns.

That is really upsetting. Rare to find someone that is a good actor and person. RIP

I predict the grim reaper is going to confound sceptics and continue to be like a super strong enema in 2021 and throughout 2022 equalling or even beating 2020

I am shocked that a list of people with old age and/or health issues had a death. You must be a psychic friend! -

August 24th is when they messaged me.

Kudos to him for knowing when to give up power and bow out. He likely would have faced a fierce primary, but I think he would have won. If only he had been the 2016 nominee...
-
Agreed. Consider that they left Pope Benny off last year. 50 spots and they missed him. You want to use one of them for Biden now? Just a tad deluded. Give it another year or so. I don't think it would be the worst idea near the end of his 2nd term.

Come on @Paul Bearer you won't ban anyone else. This person is quite literally asking for it.

God this is sad. My favorite TV show. I'll submit an entry later... Entry: B.J. Hunnicutt (Mike Farrell) Max Klinger (Jamie Farr) Radar O'Reilly (Gary Burghoff) Hawkeye Pierce (played by Alan Alda) Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan (Loretta Swit) I will go for June 26th, 2028 for the date of Alan Alda as my 4th.

It would also increase the number of picks dropped from last year's list to die. We are talking of a good year. Imagine if some of those misses stayed on the list.

I think my ignore list is up to 15-20. Could just throw a dart really....

Let's start with an easy one. @Kenny

Wow. All these 'surprise' hits from list. A lot of expected one's left. Record year incoming?
-
Not sure they do that anymore
-
I find it ironic that diego 'liked' it. Assuming he read it of course and didn't just do what he does with every other post...
-
This confirms the troll label you have been given. Welcome to my wide and vast 'ignored' list.

Off the top of my head? - They tried to assassinate him and failed. - Part of the deal Prigozhin got a few months ago involved him faking his death. AKA you lost, we will let you live, but you must 'die' in order for Putin to save face - Prigozhin is being imprisoned by Putin for information or just torture. It allows Putin to do anything he wishes to someone who is 'dead' Not saying these are likely, but they are plausible.

You stated a country is known to lie.You then noted in this case, it must be the truth. I asked, "Why would the leader of a country known to squash dissidents lie about one being dead?" How does that take an opinion either way? Everything in the world is not cut or dry, black or white. Just because someone says something, especially when they have a history of lying, does not make it the truth. I have no idea if the guy is alive or dead, but I can promise you that the Russian government is not a source I would use either way. Similar to RadarOnline.
