We are all presuming Putin has a plan. Could be he is falling off his rocker. I don't think anyone predicted a full-scale invasion of Ukraine a few months ago. Doesn't make a lot of sense... I don't put anything beyond him at this point.

Jokes aside. Russia is invading Ukraine. This is the most significant event in Europe (IMO) since the U.S.S.R collapsed. Things could easily escalate beyond Russia v. Ukraine. As a site devoted to death, there will be quite a bit of it in Ukraine...

Pretty sure it's not true. That isn't the kind of death that leaks to the press... They have a plan in place when she passes and it doesn't involve "hollywoodunlocked"

U.S has now ordered a full evacuation of State Department personnel from the country. Embassy will be based in Poland... They expect an imminent escalation IMO. Considering they left Lviv, which is nowhere near the events of today. They must have intelligence to make them cautious, so far their intelligence has been accurate. Key to note, reports are saying "if the country is not invaded", they may return.

Putin is currently giving his speech, it is....interesting to say the least. Not good to be in Eastern/Southern Ukraine at all right now

Breaking news in U.S as well (CNN/FOX/etc.) Still waiting on Putin, about 20 minutes late now. Key things to point out. 1. In the security meeting earlier it slipped that they plan to admit these regions into Russia (Similar to Crimea) 2. There was talks in this meeting of expanding the separatist held regions to pre-2014 levels, which is much larger and currently under Ukrainian control. #1 was expected as @prussianblue noted earlier. #2 is quite striking and I'm a bit surprised that they are considering it. If they do indeed take that much land from Ukraine, expect the capital to be next (at least a new government).

As noted by some others via Twitter, the meeting was pre-recorded. I can't see a reason for them blasting this all over Russian media/TV unless invasion was imminent.

I will stop bumping the Rumours thread on this, as it is becoming much more solid. Reports, though from some less reputable websites, saying the "Wendy Williams Show" has been cancelled due to the hosts health issues. I tend to believe these unconfirmed reports given everything else we have heard over the last few months. Time will tell.

I think this is fairly close to what happens. What will be interesting is how the West responds. Compared to Crimea in 2014, they have obviously kicked the PR game up quite a bit. I'm inclined they do 'nothing' besides strongly worded letters and a few slaps on the wrist via sanctions. This seems like a snowball effect, as with Georgian conflict and Crimea before. What is to stop Russia from taking complete control of Belarus or Moldova in the future? The U.S/NATO clearly don't have a game-plan to prevent the slow rebirth of the U.S.S.R (proxy-nations buffering mother Russia). What seems obvious is this won't cause WW3. Western media loves fear-mongering it though!

Everything now shows Russia is adding not subtracting troops from the border with Ukraine. In fact, multiple Ukrainian towns were shelled last night (which isn't entirely unsual). What makes it unique is the sheer number and amount within a 24 hour period. Everything points to a bad time to live in Ukraine. I'd predict after the Olympics, as they promised China, things shall kick into high gear.
