The film's primary editor was Bud S. Smith (born 1935), who for some reason isn't listed on the Wikipedia infobox. Smith and Friedkin also worked together on Sorcerer and To Live and Die in L.A. Bud is in relatively good health, but part of his tongue was removed as a result of cancer a few years back.
