David Rockefeller will turn 100 on June 12, 2015, quite frankly I am surprised he has never been on a death list. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Rockefeller

We are approaching that ominous date of December 26th, the day that two former Presidents have died, Harry Truman at age 88 in 1972 and the longest lived former President Gerald Ford at age 93 in 2006. George Bush doesn't appear to be in anywhere near as bad a condition as they were on their last Christmas days but given he was hospitalized on Christmas just two years ago and is again this year it seems there is something about the holidays and former Presidents. The only day in which three former Presidents have died is providentially July 4th, both John Adams (90) and Thomas Jefferson (83) in 1826 and James Monroe in 1831 (73). http://en.wikipedia....y_date_of_death

Nancy Reagan has now surpassed both the lifespan of her husband Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford, the latter milestone means she is now the third former first lady to have lived longer than any former President after Bess Truman and Lady Bird Johnson. Also according to my calculations Ronald and Nancy Reagan are now the longest lived Presidential couple having recently surpassed the record held by Gerald and Betty Ford. Gerald Ford 34,133 days+ Betty Ford 34,059 days=68,192 days Ronald Reagan 34,088 days + Nancy Reagan 34,140 (still living and thus still counting)=68,228 as of December 25, 2014 I also looked up what the record is for First Lady longevity beyond the birth of her Presidential husband. Ronald Reagan would have been 103 years old today and Nancy Reagan is still alive. Edith Bolling Galt Wilson died on what would have been her husband Woodrow Wilson's 105th birthday and Frances Folsom Cleveland died when her husband Grover Cleveland would have been 110 years old. So that record is actually further away than I thought, Nancy Reagan would have to live to be 100 years old herself to best that one.

I can't be bothered Googling, so how long does she have to last to beat Bess Truman and Lady Bird Johnson? You can see here by sorting the first ladies by longevity, in short she has to live about another year to surpass Lady Bird Johnson and about four years to surpass Bess Truman: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_First_Ladies_of_the_United_States

This fall has seen the deaths of a number of former U.S. Mayors. One prominent one you guys missed was the death of Jane Byrne, former Mayor of Chicago (1979-1983) on November 14th. She was Chicago's only woman mayor and Chicago is also the largest U.S. city to have had a woman mayor. Some called her Chicago's Iron Lady (referencing the fact she became Chicago Mayor the same year Maggie Thatcher became UK Prime Minister). http://chicago.cbslo...ane-byrne-dies/ http://www.wbur.org/...-who-died-today

Nancy Reagan recently reached two longevity milestones, in October she surpassed the lifespan of Betty Ford and became the third longest lived first lady (after Bess Truman and Lady Bird Johnson) and in early November she surpassed her husband, Ronald Reagan's lifespan of 93 years and 120 days. Also should she live past December 18th she will become the third first lady (again after Bess Truman and Lady Bird Johnson) to surpass the lifespan of the longest lived President of the United States, Gerald Ford. Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford and Betty Ford each died at age 93 and Nancy Reagan is currently 93 years old.

Actually Nixon died at age 81 from a severe stroke in 1994, his wife pat had died the previous year, that and the stress from the ups and downs of his life from Watergate and everything I have no doubt contributed to his relatively early demise, at least early compared to his four immediate successors Ford, Carter, Reagan and Bush Sr.
-
Most of those girls were probably born when George HW Bush was President. Anyways I think he looked fairly frail at his son's library opening, he spoke for only like 30 seconds and his voice was a bit shaky.
-
I declare Ed Kock the most significant death of 2013 thus far. That won't hold for the entire year I am pretty sure but I can't think of anyone else of greater importance that has died in the world so far this year, being a former mayor for 12 years of New York City, one of the biggest cities in the world, arguably the financial capital of the world and the home of the United Nations is a big deal.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/01/13/us-usa-bush-idUSBRE90C0C820130113 Bush may be released from the hospital in the next few days. So he lives to die another day but another year? That is much more in doubt.
-
The first condition report on his health in 2013 is vague indeed. This could very well be the longest hospitalization in Presidential history. Today, January 9, 2013 would have been the 100th birthday of Richard Nixon, the President that appointed George HW Bush as UN Ambassador and GOP party chairman. Nixon was the man that first gave Bush a major role on the national and internation stage. His 89th birthday on June 12th is quite a long way off given his delicate condition.
-
This wording reminds me of media reports of Richard Nixon's ultimately fatal stroke in 1994 at age 81. It also appears Bush is improving and out of the ICU but the initial reports for Nixon were optimistic but within 24 hours he was back in the ICU and in a coma and then dead a few days later. Of course one really can't compare a massive stroke to lingering bronchitis but it demonstrates health conditions can change rapidly with patients this old. Overall though this has to be one of the most epic hospitalizations of a former President, right up there with Nixon's relatively short death watch and Harry Truman's prolonged death watch. This is one to watch and even if Bush gets out of the hospital he is not out of the woods, he might just go under home hospice care like Reagan and Ford where there won't be daily press releases from a hospital but just an announcement one day that the former President has died.

That doesn't hold up to scrutiny if you are equating "conservative" with Republican. Of the 7 Presidents that lived to age 88+ the tally is as follows: Republicans (4): Gerald Ford: 34,133 days (93 years, 165 days) Ronald Reagan 34,088 days (93 years, 120 days) Herbert Hoover: 32,943 days (90 years, 71 days) George H.W. Bush: 32,343 days (88 years, 201 days) Living Democrats (2): Harry Truman: 32,373 days (88 years, 232 days) Jimmy Carter: 32,232 days (88 years, 90 days) Living Federalists (1) John Adams: 33,119 days (90 years, 247 days)

Since Gerald Ford's death year of 2006 death list has omitted former US Presidents from the lists, with these recent developments of George HW Bush we need to change that. I would say both George HW Bush and Jimmy Carter should be on there, any former President who is 88+ (a milestone both of these men hit this year) should automatically be on the list. Not every President is going to live to be 93 years old like Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford. Jimmy Carter this year broke Herbert Hoover's record of the longest ex-presidency in history and in a few months he will likely surpass Harry Truman's longevity and become the longest lived Democrat President in history. George HW Bush a few days ago on December 26, 2012 surpassed Harry Truman's length of ex-presidency of just a few weeks shy of 20 years. Harry Truman was 88 years old when he died, the same age George HW Bush and Jimmy Carter are now and Truman's lengthy hospitalization just prior to and including his death has some parallels to what Bush is going through right now. No doubt that medical care has improved in 40 years and it appears Bush's condition isn't quite as critical as Truman's was the writing is on the wall that his time is approaching. On January 30, 2013 George HW Bush will surpass Harry Truman's longevity to the day and become the 5th longest lived President in history. Harry Truman died on December 26, 1972 and Gerald Ford, the longest lived President in history died exactly 34 years later on December 26, 2006 and we just passed the sixth anniversary of that and the 40th of Truman's death, I was following the news of Bush very closely on this December 26th with this in mind. There has been a lot of synchronicity with Harry Truman as of late.

Who Should Be On The 2013 Deathlist?
chicago103 replied to harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy's topic in DeathList Forum
1. George H.W. Bush: June 12, 1924 (obvious given recent health problems) 2. David Rockefeller: June 12, 1915 (in a few months he will be the same age that his grandfather John D. Rockefeller Sr. died just shy of his 98th birthday) 3. Bob Dole: July 22, 1923 (will turn 90 and has been in ill health) 4. Jimmy Carter: October 1, 1924 (in better health than Bush but I think any former president 88+ years old should be on the list) 5. Pope Benedict XVI: April 16, 1927 (will be 86 and decent health or not it is a mistake to not have a pontiff this old on the list) 6. Mahathir Mohamad: July 10, 1925 (former 22 year Malaysian Prime Minister 87 years old and in poor health http://en.wikipedia....ir_Bin_Mohammed) 7. Sean Connery: August 25, 1930 (82 year old former 007 actor now retired from public appearances and relatively quiet on 50th anniversary of Bond) 8. Roger Moore: October 14, 1927 (more active than Connery with the media but 85 years old and looking and sounding quite old, former 007 actor) 9. Nancy Reagan: July 6, 1921 (will be 92 years old, relatively reclusive since Betty Ford's funeral in July 2011 when she looked frail) 10. Roger Ebert: June 18, 1942 (film critic in hospital and has not done reviews of recent films such as The Hobbit) -
As a side note Pope Benedict XVI surpassed Pope John Paul II at age of death on February 29, 2012. I have been saying for years that Benedict has been in better shape than JPII at his age and at this point him just having a pulse puts him in far better shape.

David Rockefeller will turn 97 on June 12, 2012, the last of the Rockefeller brothers and he will be the same age that his illustrious grandfather, John D. Rockefeller Sr., when he died. Longevity seems to run in that family plus there is the super rich factor but given that he is the patriarch of one of the world's richest families and well known for his role in many international organizations definitely a an internationally newsworthy person and also very old and by what I can find has slowed down in recent years.

David Rockefeller (June 12, 1915) George McGovern (July 19, 1922) George HW Bush (June 12, 1924) Jimmy Carter (October 1, 1924) Pope Benedict XVI (April 16, 1927) Roger Moore (October 14, 1927) Sean Connery (August 25, 1930)

Today is Bob Dole's 88th birthday. He was Gerald Ford's running mate in 1976 and was present at the former president's funeral in 2006 however he was not at the recent funeral of Betty Ford, perhaps a sign that his health is failing.
-
Well she actually was buried on what would have been Gerald Ford's 98th birthday, July 14th. Potential deathlisters that attended at least one of the services include Nancy Reagan and Dick Cheney. Interestingly absent was Bob Dole who was Gerald Ford's running mate in 1976, he was at the former president's funeral in 2006 so perhaps his absence is a sign that he is in rather poor health himself.
-
Agreed Nancy Reagan's appearance at Betty Ford's funeral and even her absence will tell us a lot about her condition. Lady Bird Johnson died almost exactly four years ago on July 11, 2007 and Betty Ford was absent due to health with her husband's funeral only six months earlier. I don't think Nancy's time is really close but I doubt she will make it past 93 which is how long Ronald lived as well as Gerald and Betty Ford; 93 seems to be the "in" age to die at in presidential circles lately. Also Nancy lives in California only about 100 miles from where Betty Ford lived so it should be relatively easy for her to attend unless she is in terrible shape.

Its because Zsa Zsa Gabor's and Betty Ford's families have very different ways in releasing information to the media. It seems with Zsa Zsa the family wants to reveal every single detail immediately about her condition including paparazzi pictures of her being wheeled around by paramedics. With Betty Ford the family has been very secretive, this was the case even when Gerald Ford was still around but was harder to do with an ex-president. The word from some news sources is that Betty Ford died from complications of a stroke in a hospital where she had been for a few days before. So her hospitalization was not even public news until after her death, in fact the woman was pretty much a hermit since her husband's funeral. This is how I expected her to go, just all of a sudden we would learn that she dies one day because we knew almost nothing about her condition. I was at the Ford presidential museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan last September and even asked about the state of her health and they just said she was living a low key life in her house and her health was fine but in reality I don't think even they knew. I did see the president's and what will be her final resting place along the river in downtown Grand Rapids. She died just six days before what would have been her husband's 98th birthday on the 14th. The timing is just right for her to be entombed on her husband's birthday. In late 2006 I had somewhat of a premonition that Gerald Ford would die at the very end of the ear, in fact I posted on Christmas day 2006 on the Gerald Ford thread that it would be interesting for him to die on the December 26th with it being the 34th anniversary of Harry Truman's death on 12/26/72 and he did die the next day. Also this year, 2011, I felt that Gerald Ford's birthday this year on July 14th would have some significance, perhaps that Betty Ford would die on that day or close to it, I should have posted that on here but I didn't want to feel crazy. Also like her husband she died at age 93 so there is significance there. She did die pretty close to the date and if her burial is indeed on the 14th I think I have something going here.

sweepstake standings... --------------------------------------------------------------------- chicago103 - "before the end of the year" = December 31st --------------------------------------------------------------------- chicago103 in the hot seat till close of business on the 9th January. While my prediction that she would be dead before the stroke of midnight on December 31, 2010 was wrong its interesting to know that if she passes in the next few days I would still be the most accurate. If she does survive past January 9th my next prediction would be for her to die on or near her 94th bithday on February 6th.

My list for 2011 ranked by age: Delores Hope-27th May 1909, widow of Bob Hope will be 102 years old. David Rockefeller-June 12, 1915, will be 96 years old, last of the Rockefeller brothers of the 3rd generation, longevity runs in family but he is getting pretty old. Sargent Shriver-November 9, 1915, late stage Alzheimer's and has been for some time now. Zsa Zsa Gabor-February 6, 1917, 2010 was a horrible year for her health wise and she can't hold on forever. Berry Ford-April 8, 1918, a hermit since her husband's death, Ford library told me she was still living at home but in 2011 she will be 93 years old, same age her husband died. George McGovern-July 19, 1922, no known public whearabouts in 2010 in spite of some activity in 2008 and 2009, will be 89 years old. Bob Dole-July 22, 1923, hospitalized for pnemonia in 2010, other health problems in recent years, limited public appearances since 2008 and will be 88 years old. George HW Bush-June 12, 1924, slowing down, few public appearances in 2010, Obama will present him medal of freedom in January, a sign of something we don't know? Dick Cheney-January 30, 1941, various health problems dealing with congestive heart failure in 2010, bad looking in recent public appearances.
