Surprising that she never drowned. Wikipedia states "When war was announced, shortly after her fifth birthday, she was evacuated to Wales, and thereafter moved several times, including periods in Coniston Water"

George Walker The former boxer responsible for the Brent Cross Shopping Centre, Britain's first stand-alone shopping centre, and founder of the Brent Walker empire has died aged 82. He did pretty well for a man once sent to prison for stealing nylon stockings - his daughter married a cousin of Prince Philip and "he sponsored the opera, launched the Brent Walker sailing race from Brighton to Cadiz in Spain, and renamed the September Ascot races the Brent Walker Festival" and entertained guests on his boat during the Cannes Film Festival. Not surprising to see him lauded by the Daily Mail then!

Well Zsa Zsa's never been one to be upstaged, especially by another Hollywood Diva... So let's cross over to Zsa Zsa's thread and see what's going on there

She's been rushed to hospital after her blood pressure soared on hearing of her friend Liz Taylor's death.

This one nearly slipped by unnoticed from 3 days ago: Johnny Pearson The composer, pianist and arranger and conductor of the "Top of the Pops" Orchestra has died aged 85. Also played a major role in launching Cilla Black's career by arranging the music for her first 2 no.1 hits "Anyone Who Had a Heart" and "You're My World".

He may have survived being a POW and be one of the sole survivors of Dad's Army but he can't outrun the reaper forever... I'm fascinated by how he generates so much interest on here, in spite of the fact that he has been retired for almost 3 decades and been little heard from since, contrast this with Anna Wing who continues to make fairly regular appearances and is several years closer to receiving a Royal telegram (and/or her maker perhaps???). "50. Clive Dunn, Death List Favourite" It's in the title.

Nikolai Andrianov "Nikolai Andrianov, the second most decorated male athlete in Olympic history, has died at the age of 58. Gymnast Andrianov won seven gold medals for the Soviet Union over three Games, including four at Montreal in 1976. His total of 15 medals was the record until United States swimmer Michael Phelps surpassed him with 16 in 2008."

But the thin bimbo who mimed to those vocals continues to breathe, right? ... and has her own website. Perversely, Wikipedia has her occupation as "singer" but then states "Despite claims to the contrary, she has never contributed musically to any of Black Box's hits".

Loleatta Holloway The singer whose vocals were sampled for the "Black Box" hit "Ride on Time" has died aged 64.

Princess Antoinette of Monaco dies aged 90 From Wikipeadia: The older sister of Prince Rainier, "Princess Antoinette is known to be somewhat eccentric, even having been described as "completely mad" by her servants. Having been banished from Monaco in the late 1950s, she lives down the coast from Monaco at Èze, with a large collection of dogs and cats".

Ladislav Novak has died aged 79. Captained Czechoslovakia to the 1962 World Cup final where they lost to Brazil. "He also played at the 1954 and 1958 World Cups and later had a short spell as manager of Czechoslovakia."

Mohamed Al Fayed to have statue of Michael Jackson installed at Craven Cottage Apparently MAF is a big fan. I think as an extra entertainment, the Fulham players should all line up at the start of a game facing the opposing team and do the "Thriller" dance, like the All-Blacks doing the Haka.

Cricket Thread. Only Mad Dogs And Englishmen
VSBfromH replied to The Four Horsemen's topic in DeathList Forum
Still no cricket thread, just individual ones for Dolly, Bedser, Trueman and Boycott, so: Peter Loader The former England test fast bowler has died aged 81. He was the first Englishman to take a test hat-trick following WWII (in 1957 vs the Windies), a feat which was then not matched until Dominic Cork did so in 1995. [edit] - ah it was here all the time! -
Yakov Kreizberg The conductor has died aged just 51. He had been chief conductor of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra since 2003 and was also principal guest conductor of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.
-
Bob Greaves The former "Granada Reports" presenter has died aged 76. He was the mainstay of the regional news programme, in at the launch and heading up an estimated 12,000 broadcasts, all the more creditable as he had to endure working with the likes of Tony Wilson, Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan. I last saw him on the BBC house-hunting programme "Wanted Down Under" in 2008 looking for a property in Queensland with his (much younger) fourth wife. Also famously featured on "It'll Be Alright on the Night" reporting from Chester Zoo and getting sexually harrassed by an elephant.

"Hugh Martin, the composer-songwriter whose works included "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "The Trolley Song," died Friday. He was 96"

Eugene Fodor The American violinist has died of cirrhosis aged 60. He shared second prize at the 1974 International Tchaikovsky Violin Competition in Moscow. After a glittering start to his career, things went downhill and in 1989 he was arrested and charged with breaking and entering and possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to distribute. The judge refused to accept his Guarnerius violin as surety.

I misunderstood you there Bert! I was trying to picture what someone looking like a "wasted pick" looks like, then I realised what you meant!

Not so lucky owl "Panamanian defender Luis Moreno could get up to three months in prison for kicking an opposing team's lucky owl which was struck by a ball after landing on the field. A veterinarian, Camilo Tapia, said the owl went into shock on Wednesday, after having been taken in for treatment two days earlier. It died in a local veterinary clinic in Barranquilla after Tapia was unable to save it." Video included, not suitable for owl lovers.
