Dead Edward Kennedy/Curse of the Kennedys

Damn! I originally had three Kennedys on my provisional DDP top 20 for this year, and look which one I chose to leave out! -
TV Director John Stroud has died of a brain tumour aged 54. His credits include "Educating Marmalade", "Chelmsford 123", "KYTV", "Who Dares Wins", "Spitting Image", "Harry Enfield and Chums", "Game On", "The Hairy Bikers' Cookbook" and "My Hero". Another sad loss for British comedy following on from Geoffrey Perkins' recent death.

Living wall has died Animal, vegetable, mineral... I didn't want to start off a whole new thread for plants, so hope no-one minds me placing this here. "The UK's first living wall in Islington, north London, has died just three years after it was built. The DSDHA-designed £1.5 million children's centre opened in 2006 with more than 30 different plants growing through a steel mesh on the 30-foot façade. But the once green frontage ... is now just a host of brown, wilted plants." Apparently £100,000 of taxpayers' money was involved, so quite a hoo-haa!

Top Israeli entertainer Dudu Topaz couldn't hack it. "Israeli entertainer Dudu Topaz - whose turbulent struggle to deal with his waning stardom enthralled the country – has died after apparently hanging himself in the shower of his jail cell, prison officials said. He was 62. Topaz, one of Israel's most famous television stars, had been in jail for several months since the start of his trial for allegedly hiring thugs to assault top Israeli media executives he blamed for keeping him off the air."

Stop Press "The acting TTP chief ... added that TTP chief Baitullah Mehsud is alive and is in hiding due to his illness." Actually, I've heard a rumour that he's going to make a surprise appearance on "X-Factor" singing Chumbawumba's "Tubthumping (I Get Knocked Down)".

reportedly dead Hakimullah Mehsud and his Successors
VSBfromH replied to time's topic in DeathList Forum
Conflicting reports that he isdead or not dead. He might be dead this time. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/8188859.stm Even the Taliban themselves are confirming his death now Not all of them. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/8191105.stm Might be a good thing (for them) if he is still alive, as his likely successor Hakimullah is reportedly dead Aha. So the guy who thinks the first dead guy is alive is probably dead. He's absolutely, categorically, 100% dead - no doubt about it ... possibly... -

On the basis that it's usually the quiet ones*, I'm plumping for Pincher. * The more we prattle on about the likes of Swayze, Biggs, Al Megrahi, Castro et al, the more they seem to do their darnedest to defy the odds!

Actress Ruth Ford has died aged 98. She was the widow of Zachary Scott who died in 1965. When his mother, Sally Lee Scott, died in November 1983, she left everything to be divided by her 3 children. Scott's two daughters split their late father's share, and Ruth tried to sue for a share of it for herself, but didn't have enough money for a lawyer.

It would seem holding the title of "Britain's oldest man" is akin to being manager of Newcastle United (except there's no Chris Hughton to step in on a temporary basis): Bog Taggart dies "just 20 days after inheriting the title Britain's Oldest Man from Harry Patch" Correction: Seems the Mirror may have got it wrong (according to Wikipedia ), Bob was Scotland's oldest (b 28 Jun 1900) but Britain's oldest is still Stanley Lucas (b 15 Jan 1900). However, the Scottish Daily Record and Glasgow Evening Times also reported Bob as being Britain's oldest man following Harry's death. Can anyone verify Stanley's status?
