    Dead Pop Stars

Bret Michaels is still very much alive, but I thought I'd share with you what happened to him at the Tony awards recently, as it's quite amusing! Check out the video on the page: Bret Michaels doesn't quite time his exit

    Danny Gans

He died on May 1st, and was picked up on here without much interest. OK, the person who posted it didn't include his name in the post which makes it difficult to find, and the link now takes you elsewhere, but why does he suddenly need his own thread?

    David Carradine

... maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to start a thread for David Carradine after all. This one's filling up! Any chance of someone shifting it all over?

Cripes! Is that a "significant" enough death for BCAlum2000?!

    The Dead Of 2009

Eric Hammond The former leader of the Electricians Union died on Saturday aged 79. Noted for being one of the most right-wing of union leaders, he paved the way for Rupert Murdoch's News International's controversial move to Wapping and was regularly invited for tea and biccies at No. 10 by Mrs. Snatch-Milker. Following the recent death of Ken Gill, maybe it's time we had a "Union Leaders" therad (or have we already got one?).

    Dolores Hope

Funny you should bring that up today: Couple celebrate 81st anniversary. As it says, he's 101, she's 101 next month. Not as famous as Bob and Dolores (other than for the fact that they've got to where they are!), but Dolores has had to reach the milestone without Bob. I expect you saw the article, and that's why you threw in the "famous" bit!

    Boris Johnson

The editing on the video as being shown on Yahoo (sorry, no proper link yet) is a bit crude. Obviously Boris was nearby, but they're trying to make it look as if he was standing there as the car careered towards the kerb. You don't have to look too hard to notice that one second there are people walking and cycling on the other side of the road, and the next they're all stopped to look at what happened and - hey presto - there's Bozza looking cool as a cucumber with his shiny helmet in his hand! He's saying this reinforces the need for more cycle lanes. Hmmm, if there had been a cycle lane where those cars are parked, I wouldn't have wanted to be in it when that lorry came along! Then again, round our way cycle lane = place to park your car, so it probably wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference!

    Nobel Prize In Death

One less medicine laureate. Furchgott is now Furchgone. No one seems to have picked him on the DDP either. The ukmedix news site begs to disagree: Man Who Helped SPAM Development Born "This news is unlikely to mean anything to members of the public..." Maybe they should spend less time being patronising and more on getting their headlines right. Tw@ts!

    Political Frailty

Roh Moo-hyun The former president of South Korea has apparently committed suicide by jumping off the top of a mountain. He was in office from 2002 to 2008. "Mr Roh’s death came as prosecutors planned to decide next week whether to take legal action against him. Mr Roh had admitted that his wife had taken money from a businessman to pay family debts. He had issued a public apology, but the scandal has tarnished his otherwise clean image."

    Animal Antics

Don't put your rabbit on the plane, Mrs. Edwards (I wonder what her jacket's made from?) "The world's largest rabbit has died unexpectedly after her owner flew it from the UK to Italy to take part in a television show ... It was due to appear on the Italian version of Record Breakers, but the excitement proved too much and it died in a hotel room shortly before the television debut."
