    Interesting Ways To Die...

Kinky 'Hooker To The Stars' Died In Handcuffs: http://www.lse.co.uk/ShowStory.asp?story=T...ed_in_handcuffs "The lover of a £2,000-a-night 'hooker to the stars' broke down in tears as he told an inquest how he snorted cocaine as her naked, handcuffed body lay rotting nearby." Never heard of this guy, would have put him on the "not exactly famous" thread if it was still around, but thought the nature of his death had a certain quirkiness about it: James Richards, renowned US cat expert and TV personality, dies after crashing his motorcycle trying to avoid a cat.

    The Dead - 2007

On a day when the deaths have been reported of a notable footballer and a cricketer, here's one who had a foot in both camps: Arthur Milton He played both football and cricket for England, and was the last person to do so. "Milton played cricket for Gloucestershire for 26 years, captaining the county in 1968. He scored more than 32,000 first class runs at an average of 33 and made six Test appearances for England between 1958 and 1959. As a footballer, he made 84 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 21 goals and was a member of their First Division title winning side in 1953. After just 12 League appearances he was called up by England and gained his one and only cap in a 2-2 draw with Austria in November 1951."

Susan, I admire the restraint you have managed to show throughout all these posts. You are obviously a big fan of Mr L, yet all through the baiting you have managed to respond with an impressive sequence of level-headed replies. Well done for keeping a calm head. I'm sure you have disappointed the "rant-baiters" big time!

Seamus the theraputic donkey has died aged 55: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/tm_headl...-name_page.html "A gentleman called Bill stayed on our farm cottage about four years ago and spent hours each day sitting beside Seamus, talking to him and wondering what he might be thinking. "Bill was a recovering alcoholic and his therapy in the company of Seamus gave him fresh hope." It's worth reading the rest of the article if you want a bit of a laugh (not at the demise of poor Seamus, of course, just the story itself).

Did anyone put a double on at the bookies?: http://www.thenewstribune.com/358/story/40893.html "Cartoonist Brant Parker, who co-created the comic strip “The Wizard of Id” and rendered its medieval kingdom for more than three decades, has died. He was 86 ... His death came eight days after longtime “Wizard” collaborator Johnny Hart died of a stroke at 76"

Jack Williams, one of the most widely used horse stuntmen in the film industry, has died aged 85. http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/c...3&cset=true He appeared (often uncredited) in many films, such as "Gone with the Wind", "The Magnificent Seven", "Paint Your Wagon", "Cat Ballou", "Spartacus". See his IMDB entry for the complete list: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0930810/ He doubled for Errol Flynn, Kirk Douglas and Charlton Heston amongst others. "During his heyday as a stuntman, Williams was best known for having trained his horse to fall dramatically on cue at a given spot as if it had taken a bullet or arrow" - yes, I think we've all seen his work at some time!

    The Dead - 2007

what goes around comes around... A couple of interesting snippets from the following link: http://www.injurywatch.co.uk/news-and-grou...r-crash-1147643 "Trade union worker Alec McFadden, who represented the interests of sacked workers in the TAG liquidation, described Mr Langford's death as "a sad end". He said: "As a human being, I am sad that a man has died, but it's right to say that the people I represent had their lives turned upside down by the actions of a company that Mark Langford was in charge of. Some of them ended up in poverty, others ended up getting divorced, some have never really managed to get another reasonable job. It's a sad situation for everyone, and a sad end to the life of a man who did have a damaging effect on the lives of thousands of people." In 2000, William Thornley, 73, died when he was knocked down by Mr Langford's Ferrari near Manchester United's Old Trafford ground. Mr Langford was fined £1,000 after being found guilty of careless driving but was cleared of causing death by dangerous driving. He was earlier banned for 22 months for drink-driving and had only had his licence returned to him six months before the fatal crash."

Mark Langford, former boss of The Accident Group, who infamously sacked 2,500 staff by text message, has died in a car crash in Spain: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml...accident110.xml I wonder what emotions some of those 2,500 pour souls will be feeling on hearing the news... "Revenue and Customs were pursuing Mr Langford for unpaid tax. ... A Foreign Office spokesman said they were unable to confirm details of the crash" - hmm, could he be trying to pull a Stonehouse?
