Ooh, iain, so defensive! Chill! It's only a forum!

Joseph Hill Lead singer of Jamaican band "Culture" has died aged 57 whilst on tour in Europe. Quite a big name really, but not a near miss, as his death seems to have come out of the blue.

Remember your loved one with a huggable urn What will they think of next?

Milton Kaye, pianist. Died aged 97 Never heard of him, but he has to be admired for his versatility: "Gave U.S. Premiere of Shostakovich's 1st Piano Concerto" "toured war zones with violinist Jascha Heifetz" "wrote theme music for the TV quiz show 'Concentration,'" "His broadcasting credits included... "The Rootie Kazootie Show," for which he played the organ."

Slapped wristies, BHB!

Bruce Carter Stick-thumper from the 70s band "Pleasure" dead at 49.

iain, I think it's back into rehab for you! Or maybe you could make yourself useful and check in undercover at Brinsworth House for a couple of weeks.

You'll all be relieved to learn that this rabid squirrel has gone to meet its maker. "Officers had previously tried to subdue the animal with pepper spray" Hope they followed correct procedure and read it it's rights! Can't wait for the follow-up speech from George W. reassuring us all that "the US will leave no stone unturned in in its continuing fight against terror squirrels, etc. etc."

I am guessing from the and that fact that iain is involved that Star Crossed was employing the device known as sarcasm.

Web site tells you when your mate has died
-
Iain, what a measured and respectful response. It fair brings tears to my eyes! Have you been in rehab?
-
I must admit, I thought he had died about 5 years ago - in fact, I swear I saw the obit. Obviously, my mind is playing tricks on me. That would have been Monty M. Berman the costume designer (real name Morris, appearently - why couldn't he have stuck to it and avoided the confusion?!). You will see that IMDB has them both having been born in 1912 in London, so there may be some mix up there. When I was researching details of the recently deceased MB, a particular thread also made reference to the confusion between the two.

I am inclined to agree. My first reaction on seeing the guy 3rd from the left was "that's Fluff". I was quite confused when I scrolled across to see the wheelchair-bound guy being labelled as him instead. Can anyone clear this one up once and for all? Maybe we could send someone (BHB?) in undercover?

At last, an obituary!
-
Monty Berman has died aged 94. Major producer of B-Movies. Also produced a whole host of classic TV shows in the 60s / 70s: "Gideon's Way", "The Saint", "The Champions", "Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)", "Department S", "Jason King". IMDB entry (footnote: apparently he was an uncredited camera operator on "The Third Man") Apparently he died way back in June. Full obit from "The Independent" here.

Herbie Kalin of the Kalin Twins Massive hit in 1958 with "When". And before you ask, the other one (Hal) died last year in a car crash.
