This guy's comments about his fellow contestants made me chuckle: 15 to 1 (sorry for digressing!)
  3. Balderdash! Here is another recent photo of her with Claire Sweeney. I know she looks a bit rough, but she probably just had a bad night! As for the queen...

The way things are going on Eastenders with old characters, she will probably be due for a return there shortly. Don't know whether they killed her character off, but that doesn't seem to matter anyway! Maybe she could have an affair with one of the Slaters?

Triona, I can't think anyone would have any reason to speak ill of this guy. He was a wonderful writer and raconteur, and such a great loss. I finished the second book just a few weeks ago. Good luck in your quest for your roots. Loved West Cork when I was over there a couple of years ago. Hope to be making the short hop again soon. I shall keep my eye on your blog.
  11. I don't doubt many still find him irritating, but I feel that since he went to S-pannyer, we don't hear quite as much about him as we used to. Still, he may be coming back soon...

Actor Lane Smith Dies At 69

Coincidentally, I notice that he featured alongside Mason Adams who also died recently (see here) in the film "Son in Law". Lane Smith, 2nd from left. Mason Adams far right

Actor Lane Smith Dies At 69

The name didn't mean anything to me, but when I saw his photo on IMDB, I recognised him immediately from his part in "My Cousin Vinny" and others. Played an excellent part in that. IMDB entry

The man is a genius. He would probably be much more famous than he is, except that he has tended to save his best efforts for work for which others would get the plaudits. He seems far too humble to accept well-deserved credit. Spike Milligan owed a huge debt to him, not only for all the work they did together, but also for his unbending support during Spike's many periods of doubt, depression and illness. I salute him and wish him good health for many years to come.

Yes, as I hinted, some of these names make you think to yourself "I'm sure he popped it ages ago!". Good ol' Cliff, eh! Karl Malden (b. 1912) is also giving us a fine run for our money!
