Give yourself a big pat on the back and collect those points, honez!

I'm not alright, Jacques He's been deconstructed it would appear! Anyone reckon he looks a bit like Sam Hammam?!
-
Apologies! I will remember to use the search next time. "I'm in love with a Jacques Derrida Read a page and know what I need to Take apart my baby's heart I'm in love I'm in love with a Jacques Derrida Read a page and know what I need to Take apart my baby's heart I'm in love " Name that band for 10 points...

Kudos to Petro and Technological for their sterling work! Wonder if Sharon's got wind of all this yet?

The reason you can't get the page is that it ABC have realised they've made a seious guff and had it removed! Well done to our unregistered Guest and MSN for spotting it earlier though! If anyone's STILL confused, they had an obituary page for her on their website - looks like they had a dummy one ready for her eventual demise and they'd published it by mistake! And people accuse us of being ghoulish!!!

Apparently not! Watch the X-Factor tonight and check she's not been digitally inserted. On the other hand, you may have more productive ways to spend your time, such as squeezing a zit

I am another fan. Very sad! Why is that he gets reaped when so many on the list survive to fight another year? No, I wasn't aware he'd been ill either.

Here's your answer: Oops! Somebody's gonna get a few choice words from Ozzy!

Hmm... I knocked the number in the link down by 1 and got the Christopher Reeve write up (probably this is how our correspondent found the "news" on Sharon). We will have to wait and see! Will try a few others... P.S. Is ABC the news channel that uses a slogan something like "We don't just break the news, we make the news" - could this be an example?

Mr Ninja, I think you are getting your Keaches mixed up. Syrup-wearing Stacy Jr. (aka Mike Hammer, born 1941) was the one in the film you saw. His father (Stacy Sr., would you believe!) died last year after a very impressive innings (born 1914). Stacy Jr. still appears to be very active (see link below) Keach Up, please!

Can I suggest the local constabulary save themselves a lot of time and start dragging the nearest lake now. They may also want to look out for any men dressed in their mother's clothes

The first football match I ever went to was Man Utd v Derby at Old Trafford (don't ask me why, don't support either!). Derby came away with a 1-0 victory (Hector or O'Hare I think). I got into the spirit of things afterwards standing outside the ground giving the V's to the great man as he sat on the team coach. He just sat there with that instantly recognisable self-satisfied expression on his face. A true character! Don't have any managers around these days who are even remotely like him. [Can't believe he was a mere 69!]

Fred Ebb Start by admitting from cradle to tomb/ Isn't that long a stay ...long, but not infinite, Fred!

Spooky! watched "School of Rock" with friends last night, and it had lots of references to the Ramones in it! I already knew he'd snuffed it at this point, but not when we'd made the date to see the film. Maybe if I make plans to watch "Dad's Army" tomorrow night... Any other requests?

I don't doubt that he was looking healthy. But he has form, and can go from looking bright as a button to tabloid fodder in a very short space of time! He's actually one of the most interesting and knowledgeable pundits that Sky have (maybe that's not saying much...). It makes you wonder what drives him to the depths of debauchery. Hopefully he doesn't drive himself, as I do believe he's still banned! We had a guy round our way when I was a kid who was something of a George lookalike. He even drove an E-type jag. Once, he drove it off the high-level bridge* over the Manchester Ship Canal - and survived! *M60, formerly known as M63, formerly known as M62...

... that's got me thinking: maybe we could engineer an "accidental" meeting between him and Alex Higgins in the vicinity of lots of drinking joints and get a 2 for the price of 1 deal!!! They could drown their sorrows talking about being washed-up Northern Irish sporting geniuses. The pair of them could surely drink a small town dry in just a few hours.

I was only thinking of the erstwhile nimble-footed bearded one the other day, and the likelihood of his inclusion in next year's top 10. Maybe if we all hold hands (electronically speaking) and concentrate hard on him, he'll suddenly have another lapse and re-appear in the tabloid headlines. Let's hope he can hang on until next year, though!

To return to the original subject of this thread: Andy Kaufman - what a great bloke! I wasn't aware of this latest twist to the tale until now. Sadly, as his resurrection was supposed to take place on 16th May this year and we're now in September... Might be a triple-bluff, but there's only so far you can take such a ruse, and 20 years is pushing it a bit! I'll have to scour the net for any subsequent pieces of information on this stunt. The film "Man in the Moon" was one of the most enjoyable I've seen in years. Totally confusing, but an absolute scream! It was instrumental in moving Jim Carrey quite a few steps up the actor ladder from the bottom rung towards the top (ie. SILLY to SERIOUS). I'd advise anyone who hasn't done so already to watch it. -
I think the German Olympic hockey team had a Kuntz playing for them. One piece of commentary went something like: "The Germans are in trouble here... Kuntz can't clear it!" which I thought was somewhat rude!

Another Dick ...and another (like the name of the institution on this one too - sort of fits in with the theme!!!) -

Another silly American name -
Rikki Fulton also had significant parts in a number of "serious" films, such as "Gorky Park" and "Local Hero" so was a man of many talents. By the way, I'm English and didn't have to check the above out on IMDB, so that must prove he's reasonably famous (or I have a worryingly (some might say anally) retentive memory)
