I think DDT you are prolonging the inevitable. Perhaps you should get in contact with Monsieur Mangetout to see if he can give you any tips about digesting tractors.

    Wishful Thinking Death List

I'm totally with you with Bill Bryson. I struggled to get through his Down Under book a few months ago to see what the ordeal whole deal was. Whilst I enjoyed reading about the places as I love travelling I did not enjoy his style. He was at times verbose and explained the obvious or just explained too much. That however was not my major problem. The author, and I use this term lightly, repeated the same stock phrases over and over again. One that I quickly picked up on was "at length". It infuriated me. IMHO he is not a good writer. I also have a copy of A Short History of Nearly Everything which I am reluctant to even start. I think someone from an arts background might well enjoy it, or at least gain something from it, but I have a feeling it is going to be in the same know-it-all vein that the Australian book was written in. To be fair, most people of a science background would either know already or think well that's bloody obvious (okay I may well have skimmed through the Atom chapter out of curiosity)! However as they say you cannot judge a book by its cover (or author) so, at length, I might just have to bite the bullet and read it, at length. Oh, and if you google Bill Bryson and repetitive you find I am not alone!

Did I say Scott Mills? If not I am saying Scott Mills now, and to the radio 1 DJ collection I'll add Spoony and most definately Sara Cox's voice (if you can't kill the voice then she'll just have to be shot to prevent any further sound coming out of her trap). Five years ago I'd have put in Chris Moyles et al. too but I then became a commuter and realised they helped pass the time on the M27!

That could have been the sequel - No snakes in my grass. Or was that No logs for my beaver?

No death date here either... http://www.genarians.com/1914.html Though the trouble (when I say the it should read as one of many) with the internet is everyone probably uses wikibloodypedia as their reference and thus constructing website after website upon the sand like the fools that they are. Similar to copying little Johnny's homework. You may never know - unless you make that phone call. Have a few pints maybe a brew by Badger could inspire you? For our non-UK friends... Real ales, the elixir of men in beards. Sorry, I should have also mentioned that Mr Drabble wrote a book entitled No Badgers in My Wood, as I'm not sure that would have got across the seas either

Has he given you his mobile number as a point of contact? If so send him three letters P F O. You could start a modern day equivalent to the please feck off letter, being more direct and actually stating please feck off as opposed to the usual drivel contained within. I will not suggest however that the sh!t sandwich (delivering bad news between two well thought compliments) has a modern day make over.

    Alan Johnston

I think it is a bit strange that there has been little word until now about the fate of Alan Johnston. My media coverage absorption is limited to the internet and francophone newspapers. (I've gone without TV for more than a year I don't think I could even operate a remote now) Just wondered what other peoples viewpoints are...

Here is the relevant thread for your vague claim to fame. There is more than one way to skin a cat. Mr/Ms Anonymous, if you hadn't given yourself a name I'd have given the benefit of the doubt that you had forgotten to sign in. A little less pedanticism would go along way on this site I fear. So as it appears customary to justify everything around these parts I skinned my cat in this way for two reasons. One it concerns Ronnie Biggs and two I could tag it on to the post I had just made seeing as it was a vague claim and not actually me grabbing my 15 minutes.

Jordan and Peter Andre, Celine Dion and Robert Kilroy Silk On the subject of annoying personalities I am sure you can all tick a few boxes of colleagues that fall into these catagories. I hope you are also critical enough to realise that one or two catagories could apply to you too!

Here's the link Edit - more of a vague claim to fame really but my parents were in a bar/restaurant in Rio in the late 70s and he was there. (I was too young to remember)

*Steps tentatively into thread for first time without the knowledge of what has gone before* There appear to be a lot of wandering hands in those photos, viz. Chris Tarrant and the nurse to his left, the chairman and Danny La Rue (always suspicious when you can't see them) and God alone knows where the Rev's right hand has gone!

No worries. Thank-you! Though I am confused as to how I got a whopping 14 points for it! How does that break down - isn't it just 7 for her age and 5 for the theme part, i.e 12. Though if the unique conditions apply it would be 13 or maybe 16 if my whole team is unique. I can't seem to arrive at 14 though! Can anyone tell me why so I can get to grips with this whole deadpool malarkey! Thanks.

    Professional Cyclists

Cheating yellow jersey cuts the corner!, , watch out for the barriers, pedal power?. Best part of the Tour de France, for me, is hoping for a collapse of the Pelaton. Yet as these clips will show, accidents on the TdF seem rather dull compared to the F1 crashes people have posted of late.

Any hope of a second hit I think is now dashed as King Albert has passed the critical phase after surgery, is sitting up and even talking of making a few steps. http://www.expatica.com/actual/article.asp...;story_id=41413 Now where did I put that Acme box of banana skins...

    The Weatherman Death Pool

Good old Liz, my first ever hit on my first ever team! Didn't think I'd ever get one as I didn't actually focus on whether they we're ill. Then again much like the Spanish inquisition, I like the element of surprise!
