Yeah, but pardoning them won't cost him votes. It's unclear if he intends to stand down after four years, or follow through on the claim he made campaigning about there being no need to vote after yesterday (i.e., he'll fucking abolish democracy as America has known it for a couple of centuries).

Lardy said she was fancying the prospect of a bank holiday - to be clear, it was a typical dead pan Lardy joke and not to be taken seriously. Just made me laugh so thought I'd mention it

This is for real, right?

Deathrace Form Guide #11 Donald J Trump Incoming 47th president of the USA, a 78-year-old weeble shaped individual widely believed to self-medicate with ADHD meds and not known to listen to sage advice about anything. Dead poolers have shown increasing interest in a man many believe to be a stroke, heart attack or similar health emergency waiting to happen. Clearly, a couple of would-be assassins saw a different end to his existence. The variables here are the real dilemma, like does his health go down whilst he still maintains a heartbeat way beyond the calling of victory in this pool? The Deathrace may be a sprint rather than a marathon but if you regard your team of 20 much in the way an international football manager packs a subs' bench to include some talent availble for contingencies, then the ultimate irony here is that a politician so individual you might argue he isn't a politician might actually be a superb team player where dead pool management is concerned. I'm led to believe the obit chances are very strong.

If Biden has a bad day he'll stand next to Carter's coffin and eulogise Reagan Desperate times for satirists when the world does this to them

Yeah, that's likely a better bet today than it seemed 24 hours ago. Let's not forget we're dead poolers. If you assume Trump has the brain patterning of a dictator the massive endorphin hit today will soon pale and he'll veer between strong beliefs in his own potency and extreme distrust of others advising him. Health wise the one major positive of that is his avoidance of recreational drugs and alcohol, otherwise it's all bad news up to and including a reckless disregard for medical advice on the basis Trump is best placed to manage his own issues. I think his behaviour that's been seen in those moments he couldn't control - like the nodding off in court and the fact the tonnage of papers he carried in and out of court were largely recently printed off postive social media posts from people supporting him - are an indication that the rumours about him self-medicating with ADHD meds are likely true. So, he medicates in the moment to control his mood, meaning there are peaks and troughs (the latter largely masked as he enjoys "executive time" dozes in front of the TV). He's telly tubby shaped with a persistent roll of fat around his 78-year-old body and whilst he can reduce the stress by pardoning himself away from some of the legal trouble once he's sworn in the other major stressor coming down the line is the fact he'll be president, so answerable for some major promises made and expected to lead the nation when the unexpected happens. Symptom spotting will grow this thread, and given that we'll be looking for mental and physical ailments it'll likely stay lively. Also, all of the above suggests he'll have problems (more likely a blood pressure issue would mentally fog him in front of a crowd than kill him with a massive stroke), rather than a one-off medical crisis that takes him out of the game. So, yeah, he could easily grow his presence with us way beyond QE2. Be interesting to see if he's a DDP Drop 40 in 2025

Lardy's funny, on line and in person - it's a decent one liner!

Joly's touring an amusing travelogue book based on visiting sites linked to conspiracy theories and the like - like Roswell, it's an odd collision of comedy and the paranormal, sort of a stab for Danny Robins' action and/or being a kind of Bill Bryson figure. Read it recently. Not bad, but not particularly distinctive either, so I'm not surprised it isn't packing them in. -
Trump and Musk together on election night No wonder they need a convention centre, I'm assuming those two egos squeeze the other few thousand people into a corner: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c9dlg1v7jevo

Trump's good copy win or lose. If he loses he misses the chance to pardon himself for a few of the crimes he's charged with and his legal woes are clickbait gold for a couple of years at least. If he goes bust in the process Melania's kiss and tell memoir will be a stonking read

Did anyone else see Lardy's post on Facebook earlier welcoming the prospect of a Bank Holiday?

How many of them would be a good pick for an episode of Pointless, even if you showed a photo and put up their initials? -
Thought to ask AI to be specific on this actity - "It looks like there's not much info available about a doomwank, but here's some related information about doomscrolling and Doomguy"

Cheers So, she's stranded, then - unlikely someone so ambitious is happy on the back benches. So it's a long game waiting for Kemi to fuck up or a humble pie return to Reform, then. I'd say we can rule out the celbrity jungle where she's concerned.

Trump's recent "microphone issues" which are gathering hits at an impressive rate:

Interesting, is there - like - any evidence for that, by way of someone reporting it anywhere online?

Summat I've just noted on the by-election thread whilst wondering aloud of Braverman, now passed over for a senior shadow cabinet post, might start edging towards a significant position alongside Farage and Tice -
Given the tonnage of cabinet posts Labour have created the Tories - with a handful of former senior appointees making it clear they're limiting themselves to the back benches - simply can't muster enough shadow posts to match Labour's complete list of ministers. Despite that I'm not seeing former holder of major office Suella Braverman being singled out for seniority by the new leader So, d'ya think she'll offer her services to Reform?

Fair play to Shirley Jones for getting this far - two of her on screen children from The Partridge Family are already dead

The Sun's front page today discussed the woeful state of his current - 31 room - abode and the impossibility of maintaining it on his current income. The man's 64, not exactly supported by his family and not welcome anywhere in public life. The toll on his health of such a situation likely makes him more one of ours than his siblings. Obit chances, fairly good

82-year-old Fred Dineage out smashing the boards on the live circuit talking about some paths he crossed decades ago that might have endangered his life if he'd done wrong by them Maybe he'll spill the beans on HOW is he so healthy at this age, heh heh?

My only consolation being I might not have much work to do entering in 2025, I can field over half a team of 2024 survivors - Carter and Chomsky making up the top two, again!

Speaking as one of the five DDP contestants this year who cashed in on Yaha Sinawar I can see your point
