Michael Knighton's web site is a surreal mash up of self-aggrandising shite (in my opinion) and basic spelling and grammatical errors that suggest a monster ego and miniscule skills (again, in my opinion). It was recently revised, if you saw the original where he described himself as 'hansom' it was a riot. Most of the spellings and grammar have been corrected. There is a scathing attack on the site if you go to Carlisle United mad and click on a regular column called YCTCFTB. Jimmy Glass; classic moment but - whisper it quietly - not exactly a great goalie. Gretna; plucky, successful but they'd be rubbing shoulders with Torquay and Macclesfield if they played in England. Which - incidentally - they did as a non-league side. RICHARD O'SULLIVAN - STILL SHITE - I'M ON TOPIC.

On a totally separate note, does anyone know anything about Arnold who started this thread. Has s/he any idea what was kicked off with that first speculative post about health problems and possible Dickie O suicide?

Out of order and ignorant! It's the other way around - Prokas, Skelton, Rundle, Baldachino - ex Brunton Park with careers revived at Gretna. The standard of football.... RICHARD O' SULLIVAN IS CRAP - I'M ON TOPIC - RICHARD O' SULLIVAN IS CRAP ....in the Scots second level is still part-time and piss poor compared to our League Two, just check the crowd figures and the career stats of the players. 1st - 20th place in the Scots leagues is the equivalent of - say - The gap between Spurs and Stevenage Borough.

Celebs Who've Died On The Job

Didn't one of the wealthy Rockerfeller family die inside his secretary? And Mussolini was on the job with his mistress when a seething mob did for the pair of them.

Okay....He's crap. And Carlisle are going up!

    Charles Kennedy

I'd bet the other way. He strikes me as more of a fighter than he's been given credit for. Looking at the shower of shite currently dragging the party down I wouldn't be surprised if the rank and file went in search of a clean living Charlie in a couple of years - by which point their poll ratings under Simon Hughes or Ming Campbell will be through the floor - and looked to reinstate him after the kicking they'll get from the voters next time around. It's unthinkable that they'll improve on the 2005 performance at the next election so the morning after that contest the guy in charge is gonna struggle to talk up the performance and bound to face the 'you did worse than an alcoholic, how do you feel?' kind of questions. Charlie's smart enough pissed to realise this is possible and that could motivate him to get sober. He's out about his problem now and so there's no percentage in denial anymore. Not coming to a morgue near you anytime soon.

    Famous With HIV

Hmm, a thread risen from the dead, thought that was my speciality. Good to see this one back and thanks for the thought provoking observations on fudge-packing cancer a couple of decades back. Speaking of thoughts, the thought of Wilfred Brambell packing anyone's fudge fair turns my guts over.

    Sven-Göran Eriksson

The man is wealthy, likely to land a cushy club job in Europe and clearly has a fair amount of lead in a pencil that's pushing sixty. DL 2036 I'd say.

Lord Lucan - The Big Question

He was an old folksinging mate of people like Mike Harding and the author who thought he'd found Lucan came off looking a total tosser once a few of the surviving UK folksters pointed out they could have saved him years of pointless 'research' if he'd only shown them one picture. Saw one of those 'Lucan' books for £1 in hardback about six months after it came out.

Lord Lucan - The Big Question

Hackenslash me old mate, I thought it was widely known. One of the most promising Lucan leads in 1999 suggested he'd been flown out of the UK by racing driver Graham Hill and eventually made his way to the reclusive community of Brit expats in Botswana, where he continued to live. There were a few sightings and some circumstantial evidence that a few of his old mates - like racehorse owner Robert Sangster - had sorted out something in the way of financial support to make this happen. This all featured in a TV documentary in 1999, can't remember the title of the programme though.

Lord Lucan - The Big Question

Aye, a forum favourite in the making but his grey area status re the live/dead issue should bar him from the top fifty. Then again if anyone finds him alive with a new family say - in Botswana - I reckon we could make a good case to add any nanny he might employ to the Deathlist.

    Elaine Stritch And Donald Sinden

Aye, somewhere hereabouts his well-being was discussed. If we keep punting this thread to the top a mod will spot it and put in a link to Windsor's thread.

Aye, point taken. My thinking on the whole caper is this. Four teams are breaking away at the moment and three will go up automatically. Wycombe for sure, great form and great manager in John Gorman - former Carlisle full-back. The it's down to us, Grimsby and Orient. We've forced our way in, Grimsby have been up top most of the season and Orient are consistent so it'll go down to the wire. Our run in includes games against some obvious bottom feeders towards the end, making it easier than the other teams ends to the season. Nothing is guaranteed and we threw away the chance to go top with an own goal on 93 minutes last Saturday. But - either way - can't see me too concerned about a certain ex-actor's birthday on May 7th. Right I'm off to work, see you lot tonight.

If you want to find his greatest fan, try tracking down the saddos still parting with a few quid for Dick Turpin annuals on e-bay. On May 7th I'll still be recovering from celebrating Carlisle United's promotion from League Two after their storming finale whipping Stockport County away on May 6th.

    Survivors 2006

Which of the current DL top 50 will still be breathing into 2007? I'd hazard a guess that Muhammad Ali will see his 65th birthday in January 2007. Might not be much good if he has to thank everyone for turning up, but he'll probably be there.

That excuse for an actor posted all over my youth, inescapable on tv, in the papers and in the conversations of my more mentally challenged classmates. Post 101 says - It's payback time. Incidentally Windsor, am I sadder for posting or you for counting?

    Read Any Good Books Lately?

Re Capote; In Cold Blood is a seriously good read. So good it changed non-fiction writing for good and heralded the rise of the 'non-fiction novel.'
