I was wondering about the LAPD thing. He lived/lives in Malibu (city in its own right, uses LA County Sheriff as law enforcement) and was taken to hospital in Santa Monica (city in its own right, has own police), so quite why LAPD would be involved is unclear.

I wonder if he was found face up i.e. back down. He said he wouldn’t do that.....
-
Reports are that he’s on life support after being found “in full cardiac arrest”. Strange one, no history of health issues or addictions that I recall. Certainly not on the radar.
-
I've added my vote, but like yourself, surprised to see so few votes for him given the circumstances.

Surprised Ric Flair hasn't apparently been mentioned for next year. Numerous health issues, and although seemingly recovering at the moment, surely worthy of consideration?

Re Howard Davis - fellow who defeated Jim Watt?

Reports that Natalie Cole, daughter of Nat, has croaked. TMZ link is presently broken.

Is that Comical Ali? I did consider him: he was supposed to be seriously ill in hospital, but there were some rumours that it wasn't really him. Ah of course, he was known as Comical Ali in the Motherland. If David Jacobs hadn't shuffled off, we could have asked him "Where are they now?"....

A name I haven't seen mentioned: Muhammad Saeed al-Sahhaf, AKA Baghdad Bob? 75 and would certainly warrant obits.

What about Canadian pro wrestler "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, just diagnosed with Lymphoma? Only 52, and certainly passes the "fame" test. Got to be worth considering.

Bret Michaels? Been through the wars in recent years, now this....

Stars of "Two's Company", He's 81, she'll be 80 in February, possible contenders?

From what I understand, the brain thing is merely some scarring from years in the wrestling business. As to the knee issue, I had understood that was over and done with. In other wrestling news, add another to the under-50 club: Sean O'Haire

Well, Jake's out of hospital. However, listen to the audio on from last night. If I hear this correctly, he has cancer. One for next year if he makes it?
-
I saw that segment. Didn't exactly appear to be banging at the door, IMO. Gut feeling is that he'll see 2014 out.

I really don't get here as often as I should, so let me throw a name out there: Jimmy Young? Turns 93 in September.

Time to buy a new map, methinks.

Desperate measures?

'Gossip' link now broken, but he has categorically denied it on his Twitter

80% is what the doctors were reportedly quoting at the outset. A certainty for 2011? Too soon to tell. Worth a bet? Maybe.

Word is that they're talking weeks rather than months. If she makes it to January 1st, a stonewaller for 2011.

Oliver Stone isn't too optimistic.....
