Who will win the 2020 US Presidential Election?
Lord Fellatio Nelson replied to Windsor's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I hear ya. IIRC, didn't Hilary actually poll more votes than Trump in the last election? I will never truly understand how it all works! The vote has been considerably closer than the polls suggested it would be, Biden hasn't sprinted over the line, more like hobbled really. Watching this all play out is going to be entertaining, at the very least. -

The only reason he is 'friends' with Trump is that Trump saw a little jumped up Politician take on 'the establishment' and, almost single handedly, lever the UK out of the EU. It really doesn't matter about the rights and the wrongs, Trump saw how one man created a movement that main stream Politics could not stop. Farage was Trumps hero, he saw a 'man of the people' moment and a way to communicate with the people who did not feel that they had been listened to. As it is, the result is a Biden win by a razor thin majority and certainly not the majority that the polls were predicting. This is, yet again, pollsters not asking the right questions and people too uncomfortable to admit that they would prefer a right wing President over one that may lean a little bit further to the left than was comfortable for them. Trump is a cunt, no question whatsoever and Farage has gone so far over to the right now, much much further than he was, he has become a virtual extremist, however, their past polling has shown that, yes, maybe they do speak for the people, a shit load of people. Until a leader, less extreme, grasps that salient fact, understands it and tries to fathom out how they can get those people on board then we are going to have pendulum politics of wild swings to the left and the right. Biden will prove to be equally as shite as Trump in his own way. He was just considered a bit less shite a candidate than Trump. As for Reform UK, don't bet on it failing to take off. Farage doesn't expect to be Prime Minister, the job of his new party is to gain support to add pressure to the government to ensure that it follows a particular path. It's not like he has failed to do so before, is it! -

I suspect that, If he did actually put money on Trump, he would have been a bit sly and put money on Biden too. Farage is many things but he isn't £10K poorer today!! -

That may be so but it tells you, in a nutshell, why a clusterfuck like Trump managed to get his fat head into the White House. It now looks like America, as we did last year, has voted for the lesser of the two evils as opposed to somebody who really will pull all sides of the political spectrum together, as best as they can. Obama, in hindsight, was a pretty shit President who trod water for his two terms and patted himself on the back afterwards for doing 'a great job' with only his most devoted supporters getting the bunting out in agreement. Biden has fuck all hope of pulling everybody together, his Vice President even less so. The story will run and run. -
Ideas and Possibilities for 2021

I just found this. https://www.pressreader.com/uk/sunday-mail-uk/20200823/282905207932343 He was too ill to travel in August. What I read said that he was too upset and ill to travel to the funeral? This looks like a long term respiratory problem, maybe emphysema. -

I'm sure I read that he was too ILL and upset to talk about it. Can't remember where I read it but I'm pretty certain that his poor health was mentioned by his wife? -

I think you need to reconsider and accept the fact that the vast majority who are moaning like fuck about it have not actually seen it. -

Thoughts and Opinions on the 2020 List
Lord Fellatio Nelson replied to Joey Russ's topic in DeathList Forum
The 'committee' lost all interest in this place many years ago. At the end of the year they have a 20 minute toss about ( no, not that kind of toss ) and throw in a load of names that they got off of other websites and lob them onto the list. They then fuck off back to their normal lives and leave it to us for another year, or summat. I don't blame them and don't complain because there is still enough 'I can be arsed' in them to keep the place alive. Pointless moaning about the sodding list, be grateful they can be bothered to put one up every year. -

You have to understand that Basketball is as big as Netball in many countries. I had heard of Bryant like I know who Wayne Gretzsky is but I would not really consider Bryants death or when Gretzky pops his cloggs as overly notable. -

Each Year's Most Significant Death.
Lord Fellatio Nelson replied to chicago103's topic in DeathList Forum
That is probably the deciding factor. I agree with what you say, from your perspective, which is perfectly logical and coherent. I picked Connery because, on a logical assumption, he would have had more of a press and media obituary 'globally' than Ginsburg. There is a shit ton of James Bond fan sites out there with a global fanbase and, irrespective of whether Ginsberg was still involved in law making, she was not known globally in the way Connery was. In terms of press/media coverage and being known globally, Connery made more of an impact than Ginsburg. Just my opinion. -
Each Year's Most Significant Death.
Lord Fellatio Nelson replied to chicago103's topic in DeathList Forum
He was a global film star, a greater amount of people would identify him from a picture than RBG. It doesn't really matter what she did or how powerful she was because she did not reach out as far as Connery did via his films. Well that's my theory.
