There are a number of us that just plain don't believe in funerals. Seems like a huge amount of dollars to be shelled out for a quick service where somebody or a few folks dressed in their most somber attire, yammer on about how they respected, loved, nay...adored, the now deceased person in the casket. Meanwhile they hadn't had 3 good words to say on them in the last 40 years. Seems much more proper and honest to hit the memorial service a few weeks or months down the pike. There we find those who truly cared and will relate tales of the departed, both funny and sad and will even tell of feuds they may have had with the person who kicked off. If it's a good memorial service there'll be some vittles and liquid refreshments. And possibly even the corpse now in ash formation following a toasty cremation. Regarding Kirk, it surprises me each time I read or hear that he's still alive. It would be nice to have him hang on another five to ten years.

Far too young it seems for him to have caught his last game. I suppose Whitey Ford will be next........

Time to bring up this post.?..........? Why? Has he bought the peanut farm in the great hereafter yet? Well, that is another matter....wonder if he prefers crunchy or smooth peanut butter and what type of gluten enriched bread he uses or does he spread it on matzoh? Okay, moving along, although Jimmy Earl isn't yet deceased, he has announced that democracy is. www.wnd.com/2015/09/jimmy-carter-declares-u-s-democracy-dead/ He does seems to have a point, and a good one at that. Anyway my money is on him exiting earthly being on either February 29 of 2016 or else stringing us all along until December 31 of the same year, and expiring somewhere around 11:59 (that'd be 23:59 on the 24 hour clock).

Because he had his own brand of popping corn at one point in time and even more because he has an acting resume of some length. Included in his roles were that of Cliff Barnes on the long running serial drama Dallas. He appeared in the original run and in the more recent revamped and updated version of the show. Born the day following Bastille Day in the year of our Lord listed as 1935, Kenneth Kercheval will be a standard 80 years of age this July. On IMDB he is the only actor listed as being born in Walcottville, Indiana. More than 20 years ago he had lung cancer, fought it, had surgery to remove a lung lobe or two or maybe more, and won his battle and still lives on. Still working he has been seen in dozens upon dozens of movies and television programs over the years. Also rumored to have at times imbibed in a little to much alcohol (not sure his present drinking status), he could conceivably drive off a Cliff Will be a-waiting and a-watching.

I think you want us all to slap you up side your head and congratulate you. Sometimes people get lucky. Imagine if you will if we'd had the internet back in 1960 when Margaret Sullavan died on the 1st of January after swallowing a few too many pills. Why if deathlist had selected her, they'd have been off to a darned good start. So, congratulations and may you have a few more successes as the year rolls on.

Clash Of Helmuts - Which Will Die First?
BrunoBrimley replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList Forum
Went with Schmidt. There's a gnawing sensation inside me each time his name appears on my screen, which may be an indicator that he won't make it through the year. (although it could also be the bag of Brazil nuts I consumed causing this distress) -
What Do You Think Of The 2015 Death List?
BrunoBrimley replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList Forum
My first impression was that I was not impressed. Too many exceptionally elderly folks on it to make it feel good. Then I reconsidered and realized that if they made it past 90 they were indeed able to outwit death somehow so there would be something of a cat and mouse chase going on which would prove to be exciting. So, in second impression I kind of liked the list although as always there are at least 33% that I haven't an inkling as to who they are. That too can be good since it causes me to research them and learn about otherwise unknowns (at least unknowns to myself). -
Of course as an American living in the United States (land of free catsup and sugar packets at McDonalds and Burger King), it seems necessary to tell that the name Liz Smith to me, meant the gossip purveyor not the British actor. They are both similarly aged although ours here is the real Liz Smith. Mary Elizabeth Smith was born in Fort Worth Texas in February 1923, Betty Gleadle took the stage name of Liz Smith some time after her birth in December of 1921. It would be most ideal, ideal indeed, if both of these nonagenarians were able to kick off this year and quite exciting and memorable too if they did it on the same day. One can only hope...

Yeah well rest eternally knowing he ain't ever heard of you either! Al Molinaro was a decent actor. No, make that an adequate actor. No, make that a gifted actor. He retired from the stage a few years ago, stopped doing television, movies and plays in his early 70s. There'll never be another Al Molinaro (except for people given that name at birth I suppose). Remember him always from his time as Murray The Cop on the Odd Couple (New Years Day marathon of the show on a local channel here followed then after by a run as Al on the long running series Happy Days (which had its pilot done on the show Love American Style...although there was no Al in that episode) Must say I am hoping sincerely that he can hang on until at least 2020. Something interestingly charming while at the same time occasionally frightening about a man once he makes it past 100. For old times sake (and because I enjoy employing the multi-quote feature) I've reposted below the post I made earlier about Al, Still wonder why the Odd Couple was sent off into the land of former programs. It could have held on at least another decade or two.

It surprised me some to see her name on the list as I was under the impression that Doris had sailed off a number of years ago. Maybe this is sort of a premonition thing going on and she will hasten to the cemetery posthaste!

I was confused by the topic title since I didn't have any idea who this HuddlestonE person was. Then upon closer looking I realized it was a spelling error and the E should have been chopped. Huddleston has long been a favorite actor of mine, appearing in many films and on many television programs. He's appeared in some of the same shows as dear old Uncle Wilfie, including The Waltons which ran for eons and just this year saw the passing of Papa Walton, who was nicely played by Ralph Waite. On a side note, he has a son named Michael who it turns out is also an actor.

Better late than never I suppose...... I was actually surprised, not by the death, after all, I sort of figured one day he might die, after all, many if not all people (and animals and plants as well as stars) do die eventually. No, it was more of learning how surprisingly older than I thought he was that it turned out he was. I won't say I was the biggest fan of his music, much of it didn't fully intrigue me or even register on the appeal meter, however he was a music icon and loved by many and for that I realize the music world....both performers and listeners, have lost someone that means/meant, a great deal to them. May he rest in eternal peace.

No. And what with the new openness between the United States and Cuba he's likely to hang on a bit longer.

Maybe he will do a Barack Obama`s gran and die days before the election.I believe H.W Bush`s mother died soon before her son lost the presidency in 1993.I am not sure he will go in the next year as he looks pretty good for 90 and this hospitalization is "precautionary" which means there probably isn't too much concern over his health in camp Bush.Definately a keeper for next year`s DL though-Far too big a figure to miss much like Phil the Greek and Castro. In truth iffens it be known....and I feel that being the yuletide season it should be, Dorothy Walker Bush perished on November the 19th of 1992 a mere matter of days after her beloved eldest son had lost the election. She was 91 and some odd months at the time, which may be a sign that young Georgie (H.W.) could hang on at least another year and wouldn't that be lovely? If George does doff his cap before the 2016 elections, it might prove the ammo needed to give Jebby a win (we Americans are often known to give sympathy votes...and other than the frighteningly scary look of McCain/Palin in '08, the passing of Barack H. Obama's grandmama (Madlyn Dunham...the lady who mostly raised young Barack) on November 2 of 2008 might have added to the lead Mr.Obama had in the election (that and that people were tired of George W. Bush by then and hence Republicans in general). Sure hope Jebbers wins, he has nice hair.

Yeah, she will always be Rhoda to me too. I loved her, she is still fab and I still would. She's fucking SEVENTY FIVE you sick bastard! It would be like sticking your cock in a carrier bag full of sawdust. Older girls need love too Lardy. The are plenty of attractive mature women. Personally I draw the line at grey pubic hair oh, so you're one of those artistly types are you? Do you use paint or magic marker when drawing this line?

Just learned he's joining the cast of The Good Wife (it's an American series with Juliana Margulies). He'll be playing Guy Fawkes....no, wait, Guy Williams....no, that's wrong too....Oh, here it is Guy Redmayne, described as 'disgusting'. EXCLUSIVE! 'The Good Wife' Scoop: Legendary Actor Ed Asner to Play 'Disgusting' New Role "The 85-year-old will play Guy Redmayne, a mega-donor to Democratic causes, who turns out to be, well for lack of a better word… disgusting. (This is quite a character leap considering Asner consistently graces our TV screens in the holiday season as Santa Clause on Elf!) The exact date of Asner's Good Wife debut is to be determined, but we know one thing for sure: it's definitely an appearance that you don’t want to miss. The Good Wife returns Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015 at 9 p.m. on CBS. " Good actor, nice to see he's still getting work.

I am more than a little surprised to find that he's still alive! So many times it seemed he would depart. Even his son appeared ready to depart and then rallied round the flagpole until he regained his strength. 98? Wowsa! Gotta admire him for his stamina and ability to keep alive through all these years, may he have a few more!

So insanely nice to see dear Rhoda (and for me she will always be Rhoda Morgenstern), to see her health holding together as the year begins to fold. To a longer life and a cheerful '15!

Since it is once again the lovely Monique's birthday, I realized it was time to drop in and wish holiday greetings to our dear amigo Fidel. May his upcoming year be happy, healthy and filled with plenty of nice Nicaraguan cigars (or wherever it is that he gets them from) Since it's obvious that the kindly and loving and living Fiddles isn't about to cash in his chips any time soon, I propose that we remove him from the list of muerte as he has no need to be in such a silly spot! (of course I was wrong about Eli Wallach so you might want to ponder over that for a while)

That's incredible! I got this one right (of course it helped me immensely that the poll and thread are still open after Mr.Rooney's untimely demise).
-
Not fully surprised by Joe's passing, but the strange thing is that a local 'All Movie' channel had chosen today to run several of his movies, 1 right after the other from about 8 in the morning on through to just past midnight. When I saw the listings a few days ago I wondered if maybe he had his birthday around now. Guess it was at the other end of the spectrum. Sleep peacefully Mr.Rooney and thanks for the years of fabulous entertainment.

Because they do. That's all anyone really needs to know, although we are grateful to you for sharing this information so as to know not to get caught in a windowless room or elevator with you. It may interest you (or not) to know that my late and not always beloved Mumsy had a bit of trouble with that issuance thing as well, We never did find out why. Because if it were abbreviated as THI it would be confusing. Seems straightforward enough the way it is. In Heir-itance Tax My neighbor recently disappeared for a while and the police broke down his door to see if he was in there and hurt or alive or even dead. Would he have been suitable material for listing here on DL as he had appeared in several off-Broadway theater productions? (I mean of course, had he been dead. As it turned out he was alive and well and living on a cruise ship)

Poor unfortunate Fids. People keep banking on him suddenly keeling over dead while chewing a cigar. Well now I can say with no proof (not 1 iota of it) that he won't be exiting that way. Fids has far too much class and dignity, besides which he has scheduled himself a week or two over in Sebastopol (the place in California as opposed to the place with a V over in Crimea), old Fids loves visiting the wineries nearby throughout Sonoma County. Fidel Castro will survive to rule another day!

I decided to go with Paisley as I have never been to fond of paisley prints and he looks like a corpse already.

Oh Oh I don't see Asner going any time soon. He has too much to live for and to many projects he is still working on. Besides he usually seems too angry with a touch of humor to croak. Here's to him having a long long long life and surpassing all the MTM and Lou Grant costars, Let's try him off in 2031.
