Stephen Lewis (Blakey from On the Buses) is 69 but he looks older. Possible candidate?

    New Here and saying Hi.

Hello Matt! I also agree with most of your beliefs. The exception being: "War is bad." Everyone needs to let of some steam every now and then! I hope your health is ok (what do you expect if you post it on the internet!) Make yourself at home.

    List Of Dead Commies

One of the problems I have with Communism is that the doctrine gives the opportunity for people (like Stalin) to claim they are championing Communist ideas when they are quite simply not. You never hear of anyone slaughtering millions of their opponents and then claiming that it was necessary to protect Capitalism. Capitalism may allow bad things to happen (as Communism clearly also does) but it is rarely used as a justification, in itself, of brutality.

    Pope John Paul

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Italian media gave contradictory reports about Pope John Paul's vital signs on Friday, first saying his heart and brain activity had stopped and then reporting this was not true. There was no official comment from the Vatican. The first reports, picked up by the state broadcaster RAI, said his electrocardiogram had gone flat. The ADNkronos news agency said monitoring showed his brain activity had halted. But Sky Italia television later quoted Vatican sources saying both his brain and heart were still functioning. sky are reporting that Vatican deny rumours of Pope's death.

    Sir Patrick Moore

Forgot to post this from The Telegraph a few days ago: Wartime injury finally brings Sir Patrick down to Earth Sir Patrick Moore, the monocled astronomer known and loved by generations for his eccentricity and enthusiasm, has been forced to give up stargazing after more than 70 years. A spinal injury suffered during the Second World War has left the astronomer unable to use his hands without great difficulty. He can only walk with the aid of two sticks and now experiences problems standing to peer through his telescope. I should also point out the line: It was while he was serving with the RAF that his sweetheart was killed in the Blitz, and he has remained single ever since.

A question: Is it only Cardinal Bishops that can become Pope? Edit: Turns out anyone can be Pope. Can anyone give me a reference?

I won't argue with that. Well, I might argue with the spelling but not the sentiment.

You're right that a number of the present monarch's ancestors were German, however, a number of ththose Germans' ancestors were British. George I (the German Hanoverian) was James I's great-grandson, does this make him Scottish? I'm not saying that the royal family are some sort of pure-blooded Brits, that's not really possible (or desirable). I'm just questioning how a tiresome joke about the Queen being German has become some sort of accepted fact.

To quote Josco: "I have read this several times and I do not fully understand. What are we trying to say here?"

I always find it very strange that people say this. I don't get how you figure that the Royal family is German. Is it that you think that because some of their relatives were German that this makes them completely German?
  22. Scrap that. 04:51 . Very addictive!
  23. on to 07:07 now. don't think there is much room for improvement though.
  24. It certainly is. My best is clearing them all in 09:52.
