There was a wink wink nudge nudge in the opening post

Been watching All in the Family lately. Which is an obvious cue for me to vote for Nor- Jimmy Carter because they've started making references to him in the episodes.
-
Not picked since 2014. Which given how this winter is shaping up on the obit writing front, phew!
-
Carter outlasts another. Well done to the ten Shane pickers. Thread closed.

Yes I'm still running it. Kissinger a popular pick and I'd been very clear he would count for a bonus and it ain't Hollywood Squares Would be happy to give him a "turbo crimes against humanity" bonus when I update... probably this weekend

Luis Palominio, Yama, Dfcaver, DaDeathGuy, ObakeFilter, and P94 were the Kissinger pickers. Kissinger outlived two of the accounts that voted for him actually. Nevertheless we salute those six for their service Thread closed.

He looked godawful a few months back when he and Rosalynn went on that parade ride. Compared to today, him in the car pic looks AMAZING.

Death Anniversary Thread
Death Impends replied to themaninblack's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
The 60s channel I listen to each morning said "Today we'll be remembering President Kennedy on the 60th anniversary of his death" and for the split second between "President" and "Kennedy" I thought Carter died overnight. -

It displays on my desktop. Signatures in general don't display on the mobile layout. -
Seconding Lovell, DL still needs an astronaut and him and Buzz are probably the last from that generation to be well known enough for the front page

Tempting as Shane is, I'm definitely not reneging on "pick Carter until he dies" now

Underwater explorer Don Walsh, one of the first two to reach the bottom of the Mariana Trench's Challenger Deep back in 1960, dead at 92. I also posted the death of his crewmate Jacques Piccard hereabouts 15 years ago. DDP miss, last picked in 2022.

I will always vote Dr. NakaMats in these polls, so my choice is set for the next fifty years. -
He's been in hospital so long she's gone through the entire Kubler Ross process while he's still alive.

I think they ghostwrote Last Salute to the Commodore.

After Peter S. Fischer died, msc and I were discussing living behind-the-scenes 70s Columbo personnel, and he brought up Butler. Butler died a day after that conversation!

Here goes. Right sod Luis Garavito was picked by bastards theme team TheKillingTime. With an impeccable resume qualifying him for Crimes Against Humanity points, this boost TKT by 22 points (10 base + 12 bonus). Interestingly, I see that another of their picks, Franklin Delano Floyd, died in January, which previously was completely unmentioned on the forum. Just as well as he only got Florida press and no QOs as far as I can see. Only GuyFromFuture took a stab at The Hustler/Carrie star Piper Laurie for this game, sinking in the 8-ball into the subs bench for a 25 point value. I thought Bobby Charlton would be a pick for maybe 3-4 teams. But actually he only made as part of Joey's DL survivors gimmick team. Thus Joey now shoots up by 49 points (35 base + 14 bonus). John "요한" Sulu likewise breaks Oleg with a unique hit in the form of figure skater Oleg Protopopov. Mr. Sulu skates up the scoreboard by 42 points (30 base + 12 bonus). And so only four teams, all hovering outside the top thirty, gain in the latest scoreboard, though I doubt Reptile is complaining about the dearth of action: 1. gcreptile 567.95 2. Perhaps 442.95 3. An Fear Beag 422.95 4. Pedro67 420 5. Banana 411 6. CaptainChorizo 396 7. MariNisia 385 8. markb4 377.95 9. maryportfuncity 343 10. RadGuy 333.7 11. John Key 326.95 12. Update coming today. Luis Garavito, Piper Laurie, Bobby Charlton, Oleg Protopopov, think that's all?

Advent Avalanche Form Guide #2 Yoshiro Nakamatsu Part Edison, part Barnum, all Dr. NakaMats. Still hellbent on seeing 144, but if it turns out he's deflated his current age by 49 years could make for inspired picking.
