I saw he was trending on Twitter last night and got all excited for a second.

six feet under was the only one to buzz in for Bamber Gascoigne, getting on the board with his starter for 25 (sub points). La Veneno actress Isabel Torres gives venomous bite to Banana's offense, with 40 base points plus 16 points boosting his effort by 56. Beryl Vertue was the most picked hit of this update, on two teams. Still a unique scorer though, for only YorkshireBanker had her on his main team and gains 10 base points plus 4 bonus for 14 total. Toast relegated her to her subs, obtaining 50 points and becoming the first player this year to score with both subs. Gail Halvorsen sweetens things up for Famous6Eva, dropping 28 points (20 base + 8 bonus) their way. Quite a few teams attaining their first points this update, and another is JoeMoneypenny with Chor Yuen providing 10 base points and 4 bonus points for 14 overall. Catherine Wybourne logging out seems to be vindicating DevonDeathTrip's habit (hehe) of picking eclectic religious characters for the HPDP. The second faller of his main ten, her base 45 points are complemented by 18 bonus points for a 63-point haul. And here comes the latest scoreboard. Banana sneaks into second, but there continues to be considerable gap between Book and the chasing pack. And illustrating the beauty of the HPDP, we have a team without Gary Burgess on the cusp of the top 5. Imagine that happening in the DDP! 1. Book 290 2. Banana 180.81 3. Salmon Mousse 176 4. gcreptile 172.81 5. msc 160 6. DevonDeathTrip 158 7. CaptainChorizo 117 8. Pedro67 113 9. maryportfuncity 112 10. Kenny 99 11. Annami 94 12. Toast 91 13. markb4 80.99 14. drol 75 15. Perhaps 65 16. Torva Messor 64 17. MariNisia 58 18. theoldlady 50.82 19. An Fear Beag 45.81 20. Great Uncle Bulgaria 45 21. John Key 32.99 22. Famous6Eva 28 23. six feet blunder 25 =24. JoeMoneypenny 14 =24. YorkshireBanker 14 =26. Hell 0.99 =26. The Old Crem 0.99 =28. Everyone else 0

At this rate, 2022 is going to be a competition between msc and I as to who can bring up Ronnie more!

Indeed, can verify I have and reviewed Spade's PM.

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Death Impends replied to Joey Russ's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Always felt it a missed opportunity she never recorded a "Phew, I never really wanted Johnny anyway. Hm, that Judy is cute though..." type parody in her later years. -
Aim to update this weekend. Isabel Torres, Bamber Gascoigne, Beryl Vertue, Gail Halvorsen, Chor Yuen all the hits since last update I make it? Plus Catherine Wybourne awaiting an obit, and Dan Lacey almost certainly not getting one.

Notable Victims of the Russo-Ukrainian war
Death Impends replied to the_engineer's topic in DeathList Forum
Locked, for now. If notable Ukrainians start dying en masse, then maybe it can be reopened, but otherwise this can all be discussed in the Ukraine Crisis/Zelenskyy threads. -
Is Jason Lee going to wait until the day she actually dies months or years from now and go "See? We were right!"?

Death And The Scrabble Deficit
Death Impends replied to DevonDeathTrip's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Yeah. A lot of his Wiki edits are Olympics related iirc. -
A Whiter Shade of Pale would be "play us out" worthy for me most other years. RIP...

Fatima Ali was the closest I recall a DDP canon pick getting to the D40 without much forum discussion, 20something teams I want to say when the only mentions of her inbetween her downturn and the 2019 grand reveal were a few public Deathrace entries.

We already have a "who will be the next hit" thread. It typically gets created within hours of the DL scoring another hit:

There was a thumbnail for your attachment when editing your post and I had to click a small trash can icon over it in order to remove. Probably should've done a screenshot to explain it better than I can through text but what's done is done anywho...

Disambiguation now done.

Incumbent representative. Will QO without problem.

Brill Building songwriter Beverly Ross dead at 87. Among her co-writing credits are "Lollipop" for the Chordettes, "Dim, Dim The Lights" for Bill Haley and His Comets, and "Judy's Turn to Cry", Lesley Gore's self-answer song to "It's My Party". ETA also didn't know she was key to furthering Phil Spector's career when he was just starting out. Who then stole a riff she wrote for his own usage in "Spanish Harlem", and she withdrew from the music industry a few years later. Truly feels like you could be on your deathbed and still find new reasons he was a cunt!

If Nelson QOs, that's a first hit for my US chartoppers theme team. Bit interesting that three of four Teddy Bears had a noted musical claim to fame wholly unassociated with the group (Spector is obvious, Connors with the Rocky theme, and Nelson with his solo drum hits).

Is this a cue for me to give him an obit longer than War and Peace and American Pie combined whenever he gets the classy broadsheet nod?

DDT 2011 was the only real "it's over in the first two months" season. In the years since the early leader sometimes wins it all (IIRC Bert was on top of the scoreboard in Jan or Feb the year he won) but only after a long fight.

Smart Beta in a good spot right now with two major gambles paying off by mid February. Not unbeatable though, especially as names like Pele can easily be counters.

Mainly boots at the moment tbh. A prime sign the hormones are working now that I actually care about my shoes though...
-
Would be interesting to write a trans obit from my shoes if she QOs. Let's see...

We've accepted BBC live blogs before I'm pretty sure. Like for Jugnauth or whatever his name was from last year iirc? So I'd say yes.

Overheard on 60s radio that a member of Gary Puckett and the Union Gap just died - Kerry Chater - https://williamsonsource.com/obituary-kerry-chater/ First death from the group it looks like. The dwindling tally of intact 60s bands goes down another.
