The masterlist posts are up! It looks like 46 teams now. I was thinking the participation rate was going to be slightly down, but impressive turnout in the final two days exceeded expectations. Yes, there's still a few instances of Betty White and Billy Turner about the posts, but that's enough for today. I also have to start the research and filling out the actual details on newly-picked celebs for bonuses etc, let's see if this Bill Clinton guy was ever president, etc... I decided to just let @DeathByArsenic have the full team despite being 15 minutes late or so. My generosity after sleeping off yesterday's Bettymania. No further exceptions mind. Speaking of Betty White, only markb4 out of her pickers has made the team adjustments I believe (if anyone else among you did and I missed it please remind me!). I will give them until 23:59 on Sunday to provide a replacement pick, if not, I will just bump every name on their team below White up one. This likewise applies to teams still without a full subs bench. The deadline for them is 23:59 on Sunday and past that point they will only have one or zero subs.

Using Excel for team submission is not strictly required, merely highly recommended. If you sent an email that contained your team in the body, as opposed to having an Excel file attached to it, then it still would have been accepted. Also, for future reference, if you have DDP related queries, please ask them in the DDP-specific thread.

TBH I think wins like yours or Dr T are going to be more the norm henceforth than mine or Reptile's. Too many top research games nowadays in contrast to when DDT and later Spade had a clear edge over the rest.

Also, Jake the Snake was the closest I came to picking someone, that I didn't pick in the end. He was the only still-living name on my end-of-November draft that didn't make the final cut. That he's co-hosting a podcast makes me think he has more fuel in the tank than thought a few months back. COVID might make that a d'oh though.

Now that the deadline has passed... the 2-1 verdict was approving Marina Oswald. Fringey name but the historical interest and long-standing Wikipedia article was enough to qualify.

She was another already ruled as a no by the committee fwiw.

New name for me but yeah, my "one appearance on a game show" bar is pretty high. The only one I can think of that I'd count is Michael Larson if not for the whole dying 20+ years ago thing.

Also there is no official verdict on Amy Price at the moment. She did count last year when we first rolled out the FFBI ban. I guess double checking can't hurt for a borderline case. But please do not speak for the committee as the last word with pick fame or not rests with us.

Unfortunately the committee has already ruled against Mike Mora as a pick. Even though he is a professional photographer, we simply could not find any evidence of him getting news coverage or renown for his photography work. Merely being called the "photographer husband of Kelis" seemed moreso to be flavor text as he has only ever seemed to be mentioned in context of his far more famous wife.

Here's the rules re the deadline: It is tempting to be lenient but then, allowing teams that submitted past the deadline to partake at all is lenient as is so I sadly have to be a bit of a harsh mistress! If it helps you feel better at least you didn't pick any baseball players

Unfortunately @DeathByArsenic and @Gooseberry Crumble you will have to shave off one of your names as the deadline for a full team has already passed. If no response I will just remove the 5 pointer name. I hate to do it but it just wouldn't be a HPDP without some cruel and unusual punishment
