    37. Dick Cheney

BREAKING NEWS: Cheney's chief of staff Lewis "Scooter" Libby has been indicted by a federal grand jury in the CIA leak case. Libby has resigned his position. The New York Times has reported that Cheney told Libby this information. This stressful news cannot be good on Cheney's heart.
  3. Who will be Number 5? Take your pick.

    John Kenneth Galbraith

But a gain for the great Banshees Scream. A gain it would be,, since this does not seem to be a good year for deathlisters 90 and above.

    Gerald Ford

Interesting note: Ford like Rosa Parks was born in 1913. Parks was born in Feb. and Ford in July. Parks was 5 months his senior.

Who's up next to die this year?

Elizabeth Taylor, John Kenneth Galbraith, Gerald Ford

    Rosa Parks

MSNBC reports that Parks' attorney confirmed her death earlier this evening at the age of 92. This is truly a sad loss for our country. May you rest in peace Mrs. Parks, thank you for a life well-spent!

    Elizabeth Taylor

If not #11, I'm guessing very close to it. Maybe 12 or 13 by the end of the year.

    Gerald Ford

The news media has been very quiet regarding Ford's health. But I won't believe anything until the end actually occurs-whenever that happens.

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2006

This looks overall like an excellent list. I just now found it. Might want to consider havingsome of these names. I just wonder considering the age of health of some of them, if they will be lucky enough to hang on till 1-1-06.

    Near Misses for 2005

Vivian Malone Jones, the first black graduate of the University of Alabama died today in an Atlanta hospital at age 62. Ms. Jones was one of the students who was refused entry in the school by Gov. George Wallace when he "stood in the schoolhouse door" in 1963 in an attempt to block a federal court order ordering integration.

Which candadates will SURVIVE the year

I believe Walter Cronkite will make it to 2006 and celebrate his 90th birthday. His recent appearance on Larry King Live showed him to be in good form and if the rumors about his personal life are true, he's probably got a good chance of living well into his nineties.

    Gerald Ford

12? I'll go for less than 3. The ideal situation would be if he goes before the end of this year. I am in need of some points on my 2005 ddp! Me too, I'm 42nd =..Oh, wait a mo..... I don't have him. Damn . Hang on in there Gerald, I'll pick you next year It would be ideal if Ford went before the end of this year, because Deathlist is in need of some success. It's been nearly a month since we had a death.

    Elizabeth Taylor

Sounds like Liz doesn't have much time left. She may come in as a DL success this year.

    John Kenneth Galbraith

If Galbraith's health is as poor as the rumors say, I'd frankly be very surprised to see him live ou the year.

    Walter Cronkite

If that story were really tue than thenews and tabloids would have been all over it. Cronkite would thus be the joke of every late night talk show and newscast around the world.

    Albert Hofmann

Honestly i admire Hofmann's work that he has done all his life. i'm going to hate to see him go and usually you would find that quite rare hearing this from a deathlist regular. He is infact 99 nearing a 100 years old which sadly means he is towards the end of his life. I truely hope that he has more years to come but when his death finally arrives it arrives. He has brought us a second sight which a majority of us have never exspirenced. He gave us 'Ergots Child" as he would say. "The man is a genius" It will be interesting to see whether or not he makes it to his 100th birthday.

    George Bush Senior

It's also interesting to note that George H.W. Bush has a fair chance of dying while his son is still President, as he will be almost 85 years old by the time W. finally steps down in 2009. If this happens, surely it will be the first time that a President would have to pay tribute to a former President at their funeral, who also happened to be his father? This would be an interesting speech to observe. Well, for me it would be, anyway. Actually John Adams died in 1826, while his son Quincy was president. According to David McCullough's biography of Adams Sr., word didn't reach Quincy for several days and he was not able to make it to the funeral. So if Bush Sr. dies before Jan. 20, 2009, it would in fact be the first time a son pres would have to pay tribute to his deceased pres father.

    George Bush Senior

It's interesting to note that if Gerald Ford is the next former president to die, then Bush will become the oldest living former president at the age of 81. Jimmy Carter was born the same year 1924, but he is 4 months younger than George Sr.

    Gerald Ford

Ford might have a little time left. I believe he has a year or so to break Reagan's record for longevity. That will be interesting to see if he can pull that one off.
